Maybe when we play Lyon on the 5th Aug it will have to be a five a side.

Reading Textor interview in Athletic, his multi club business strategy is immersed in what sounds like very complex and unsettling corporate structures. I remain firmly behind Parish. Fingers crossed H&B are keeping a close eye on things and appear to be behind SP.

Even if you ignore what Parish has done so far for the club, I think there is one very strong argument for him over Textor. The fact that it seems that Textor's intention was always to take control of our club, and that he hasn't been able to do this, and is reduced to complaining about it in the press, suggests that either he was extremely niave or he has been outsmarted by the other directors, who have managed to secure investment without seeding control. Whatever the case, is it makes a very strong reason not to have Mr Textor at the helm. Edited by tshepp897 (30 Jul 2023 1.00pm)

I don't understand why there are a few posters that still say this. Took over the club, within a couple of years we're in the Premiership and have stayed ther ever since and all on less money than our competitors. CPFC 2010 and beyond has been an amazing success imho. Of course there have been challenges. Some dealt with better than others but overall, I can't think of a time that the club was in a better position. Can you? Secondly, if we talk about a chairman spending more money, what are they expected to spend it on? Big transfers and overpaid wages for better players. All clubs suffer from having players on contract earning more than they should, trying to move those players on is part and parcel of running a club. In that regard, have we done any worse than other premiership clubs? You say we need to move on, to what? Imho we have been making slow but steady progress, without going mad. Isn't that what was promised back in 2010. We now have other investors and it may not be working out for them exactly how they planned but when I look at other owners in the league, I'm grateful I support Palace.

Might that be a pointer to there being a concern amongst the other investors that Textor is too near the 50% + 1 mark?

Under Parish we will still have a club to support in 10years, whereas under Textor the ride might be more exciting but I fear it would end up being short lived -

Things don't sit well as far as Textor is concerned, yet it wasn't that long ago, we were all lauding him for his £70m(?) injection, how times change.

Within the Athletic interview is an aside from the Athletic stating that sources close to Palace who wish to remain anonymous stated that "other shareholders will soon be injecting cash as part of a capital raise, which would dilute Eagle Football’s holding". Might that be a pointer to there being a concern amongst the other investors that Textor is too near the 50% + 1 mark? The other shareholders can only dilute Textor's shareholding with his permission as he will have the right to subscribe to the new shares

If our other shareholders read this as I do the ball will be in their court.
