think its a strange interview, basically outing his co-owners.

i would always trust parish to do the right thing for the clubs future even if it means we dont move forward as fast as some would like, slow & steady wins the race & all that.

there is something about textor i just dont get, i dont think hes a charlatan per-se but hes got his fingers in to many pies to really care that much about palace.

i hope this interview is basically him engineering his way out as i dont like the fact he is playing his game with others money.

Read Badger11s post i think it raises the questions that need to be answered, i cant believe SP would stop JT using his own money, unless there are strings attached.

If he was to use his own money it would be a loan to the club meaning it would need to be paid back.

I don't believe he would only pump money in he would want to others to add some in as well and this is not going to happen which is why they keep voting against him.

That’s a big conclusion to jump to, to suggest it’s his own money. Without the club owing him back…I think that’s ludicrous.

Unfortunately not even close. I would imagine he meant south london, which is correct.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Spurs and West Ham all have cat 1 academies.

I've read the article and he actually said South London

Just another story with negative connotations, it seems to be completely standard right now. Maybe the club should be looking at a more active PR rep.

No, it seems to be a case of Dougie and SP not rating the players Textor wants to bring in.

Textor is very hands on with the clubs he's the majority shareholder in. He's frustrated that he doesn't have the same power and influence at Palace. Harris and Blitzer tend to side with Parish.

Just to add to that, I read an article recently that suggested a player he wants to sign for Botofoga, has been sold the idea that if he plays well for them, he can be sold to Palace. So he’s sort of dangling a carrot to players, that may not exist. Which I think is wrong…if true. He’s simply not in a position to make that sort of promise.

Textor comes across as a guy who lives in fantasy land.

I agree, if it isn't his own money, which i think it isn't, the cupboard is not bear but without selling probably one 15m player and some loans.

I do ponder whether the stereotypical American gung-hoism provides the reasoning all the commentary suggests SP is putting the brakes on acquisition of players? It does sound very ‘megabowl’ from the Americans and you only have to look at Chelsea’s recent state of being to understand hesitancy around granting them carte blanche or their dictating things.

By the same token, we need full backs, wingers and strikers before we may even lose more players.

Hard to know what to make of all this, the instinctive fan reaction is to say ‘Go go USA, spend a load of money on new players’ and ‘boo Parish’ however the flip side of it is to believe Parish has our best interests at heart, support him however he’s playing it and question the intentions and proposed actions of the Americans let alone the consequences and ramifications of that approach.

In any instance, I’d still consider us starting the season with no new arrivals and the squad either as we are now or even lighter as a massive disaster. There’s surely a middle ground between reckless spending and one free transfer for the PL’s penny pinchers?

You’d like to think each transfer window we’d identify around 3-4 players/positions the squad needs to fill and mitigation plans for unexpected departures? Time will tell though I’ve been asking that question for decades now.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The club says it’s looking to end the season in the top ten. Yet as of yet , the only way that can happen is with a marked improvement from the existing squad, it really doesn’t seem likely, at our very best with our very best on the field there would be an outside chance, but the squads to thin , we can not sustain a good run of results for any length of time when the injuries come.
Spending doesn’t always bring success , but constant supplements to the squad are needed ,and every top half side will be doing it. We are four senior players down, and if that doesn’t create room for possible improvements in the squad I’m with you disappointed , and somewhat apprehensive as to the actual outcome.
On the bright side over a month of the window to go and who really knows. Other clubs are having problems so we should not prop things up .
