The downside to this is that it spreads and affects some people they are trying to help. Agreed. A lot of people in the entertainment business are self employed from the food truck guy to electricians and makeup artists etc. The strike is impacting a lot of people but as I said above apart from the copyright issue over AI this is not about the stars getting more money but about the folk at the bottom of the ladder.

Eddie Redmayne apologised for playing a transwoman (whatever that is) when he wasn't one, Tom Hanks apologised for playing a gay man in Philadelphia, because he wasn't gay (came as a bit of a shock to me)......Now I'm just waiting for Arnold Schwarzenegger to apologize for playing an android from the future when he's clearly just a wooden Austrian.

LOL Surely the point about being an actor is to portray someone you are not. Actors often complain about being typecast and unable to take on roles that the public don't associate them with e.g. Harry H Corbett hated Harold Stepoe as he claimed it ruined his acting career as the public didn't want to see him in any other role. Meanwhile most of these luvvie actors are doing their best to promote the very thing they claim they don't want. I see Hugh Grant is in trouble because he's playing a "little person" in Wonka much to the displeasure of certain groups. Just because you tick the boxes doesn't mean you can act. Edited by Badger11 (21 Jul 2023 8.16am) I agree with you Badger - up to a point. Call me racist if you like, but I find it unsettling to see a black actress playing Ann Boleyn for instance. And, isn't Dunkirk a British film rather than a product of Hollywood?
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

And, isn't Dunkirk a British film rather than a product of Hollywood? You aren't the racist for this.....even though I urge the right to stop accepting the left's language. It should be remembered that the whole frame on 'racism' and race is relatively recent and done deliberately to paint your culture as evil....it's not done elsewhere in the world. No, what was done with Ann Boleyn was done deliberately to upset anyone who regards the English identity and history as important......or indeed, anyone who values a care for accuracy. The people who do this would never do the same to another culture and the people who give them jobs would regard it as racist to do so.
