Would not mind someone like Potter now. Or if he wants a break get Roy for one final year and then you can also target other managers next year: Potter, Kompany, Carrick etc..

I would not mind if Palace got Potter, Kompany or Carrick meaning Roy stays one final year. The main thing is backing Roy or the new incoming manager. Lerma is a good signing. If Palace can also get a RB, winger and clinical striker they have given the manager the tools to reach top 10 at a minimum and possibly chase for Europe in some capacity (Conference League).

I think the main thing is regardless of who comes they need to be given the tools (another 3 players) whether that is Roy for another year or anyone else they should aim for top 10 at the least. Even this year Palace had an up and down season they drew and lost some games which they should have either got 3 pts or at least draws from the losses so they should have really got top 10 but results did not go their way. I think the Man City Palace game was a perfect example 2-0 up and then losing 4-2 how did that happen?

I thought the STs for 23/24 were already sold out and there's a waiting list.

I’m sure you’re right, i did mine back in April so I haven’t looked back since, amazing what a few wins can do near the end of the season

Won’t happen top 10. He already reckons it will take a hell of a lot to finish higher than this season he said it. His not capable of it as a manager. His mediocre at best. You stand still in this league you go down so will we. It dreadful what will happen if he stays. I personally thing parish should stay away from football decisions and step down if he chooses Roy.

And that is why investment is required. Whether you are Roy, Kompany, Carrick, Potter, Rodgers etc if the team is not improved then you can easily find yourself in a relegation fight. But I think the key thing is sensible spending teams like Brighton, Fulham and Brentford show that you do not need to spend £80 to £100m every season. Important thing for Palace is retention making sure Eze, Guehi, Andersen, Olise, Doucoure all stay for the long term and they invest the squad not necessarily £80m every season but have a season where they spend on 3 to 4 players and thereafter pushing through academy also.

You seriously haven't got a clue have you, do you remember the Jordan and Goldberg disasters, Parish in my opinion is doing a great job 11 years in the top league in the world, what better do you think we should be doing.

And that is also correct. 10 years ago if you told Palace fans they would be in the EPL for 10 years a lot would have never believed that. But I do agree with what others are saying as well with investment 3 to 4 players this team could be chasing a Europa Conference league spot and go to a cup final . There is nothing wrong with having ambition and doing better but I suspect the reality might be different for Palace depends on the investors and how much they want to spend.

Don’t get the whole obsession that Hodgson is guaranteed survival and everyone is happy with just that. Firstly he isn’t guaranteed to keep us up. Him coming back for the last 10 games the effect won’t last through next season. Things went sour the end of the last permanent spell yet pepole all of a sudden want to bottle the rebuild and resort back to just staying up. Which to me is pointless because next season or the season after we will just go down and end up not coming back up. We’re better taking a big risk and trying to get into the top 8 one year then top 6 after. It can be done. You don’t need to spend loads to be up there. Just wisely and have a manager that accepts nothing but wins. Palace have no standards. I do remember Goldberg and the Simon Jordan era. I much prefer Simon Jordan as a chairman than Steve parish. Parish is better with finances but Simon Jordan was far better at football decisions. If Jordan was better with the financial side I’d personally walk over broken glass to have him back. It’s pathetic. If we’re just gonna try and stay up every season they should lower ticket prices all merchandise and be honest. Definitely something that doesn’t interest me and makes me fall out of love with the club

"Jordan was better at football decisions" - I have to say not my recollection. Numerous dreadful managers and players like Trevor Francis, Peter Taylor, Alan Smith, Akinbyi, Ruddock and so on with mainly mid tier finishes in the Championship playing turgid football.
The truth is he had an enormous ego and ran the club into the ground and nearly into liquidation. Add to that all the rubbish he spouted about the stadium and buying it back - not a strong legacy in my view.

Oh, I would so enjoy reading the argument for that - please provide the evidence. I'll get the popcorn out and get comfy. This will be good.

Please remember, in your argument, that the four most expensive strikers that Jordan bought included Shefki Kuqi, Ivan Kaviedes and Ade Akinbiyi. The fourth was Clinton Morrison.

My understanding is that the deal for Kuqi was a fee which could rise to £2.5 Mill but I cannot remember if that figure was reached.
Akinbiyi I believe was purchased for a sum just in excess of £2 Mill but I seem to think there was a £150K fee to be paid if we were promoted.
Kaviedes was signed on 'Loan'.
I think that Morrison was signed for a fee just in excess of £1 Mill but there was a further £750K in various add-ons.
