When he was at his best in the PL he went past players like they were running in mud. For a counter-attacking team, pace like his could be lethal. I just have this feeling he is made to be a top Palace player.

GK I think we are sorted.

We need another CB. Tomkins looks as though he retired mentally and physically a long time ago, Richards is a real injury liability. Loved Tomkins and a massive fan of Richards but we need cover here.

RB we need somebody new in there, a starting XI signing. Left back I would bring someone in just to either push Mitchell or displace him but at very least just cover him.

The midfield I think we are OK, or is of less priority. Again an obvious starting partner for Doucoure would be fantastic, and my wish, but not the end of the world if not.

On the wings Mickey Olise is the only 'must' on the team sheet unless Wilf stays. Either way would like some good cover here, someone who can play both flanks but if Wilf goes a starting winger.

Striker is the most obvious position for me. As others have mentioned, if we could get someone who bags comfortably into double digits per season we'd be laughing. More importantly for me however the players behind and around that striker would need, and be massively boosted by, having the presence of someone up top they can believe in, leads that line and can capitalise upon the quality on offer.

1. Striker
2. RB
3. Winger
4. Decent covering CB
5. LB

That would be my order of priority.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Bring in Leo Messi as player manager, it'll be like history repeating itself.

I tend to agree. What's more his headless chicken tendencies are likely to cramp Eze's style and the way Ebs has been banging them in recently, we don't want that to happen.

Quite frankly, it's time to move on from Gallagher and find someone who can complement both Doucoure and Eze.

I couldn't agree more. Whilst I love Connor for the player he was for us, I'll go out on a limb and say that he will NEVER have a season that good again.

Reason being, at the time we dint have a number 10, so he played that role, and whilst not really talented on the ball, he's a great presser, so allowed us as a team to press aggressively. On the rare occasion he had to play deeper he was know here near as effective.

So IMO, if you wanted Connor in, it would have to be at the expense of Eze.

£10m? I presume that's just Wilsons wages!

Justin is an interesting one though. Who else could we scavenge from relegated sides?

At various times we were linked with Bella-Kotchap, Walker-Peters, Maitland-Niles, and Aribo. I thought BK looked the best of a bad bunch from that lot but centre-back is not the priority. I wouldn't touch MN with a bargepole, but WP might be an option at (no more than) £10m.

At Leeds the obvious one is Harrison, but I quite like Daniel James. Maybe we could get two or three good years out of Luke Ayling?

My £60m from relegated sides only:

Justin £20m
James £20m
Daka £20m

If Dan James wasn't so quick he'd barely be good enough for the Championship. I agree about Walker-Peters and Bella-Kotchap who both looked good in a poor side and I'd be happy if we signed either, but I doubt Saints would accept less than £20-25m for either. Justin bust his Achilles this season having previously been out with a cruciate ligament injury for almost a year, so £20m would seem a massive risk.

The great thing about Justin is he plays both RB/LB

I know what you mean, but we do need pace in our frontline.

I feel like Dan James has been killed by the modern trend for wingers to cut inside from their 'wrong' flank. It suits someone like Olise, but not speed-merchant wingers like James. He may occasionally get a shot away having cut inside, but he runs into traffic and gets crowded out far more often. We'd have to play him on the right, or he'd have to learn to beat his man and cross it from his left. I don't see either as being impossible and at his age he could be a good signing so long as we use him correctly.

I've never been blown away by Walker-Peters. He seems too slight physically to defend well, but too average in attacking aspects of his game to offset it. If we can get him then at least we will have a player for the RB position for a good few years, but I'd prefer Justin subject to a thorough medical.

Perhaps the doc that checked Ferguson can get involved?!

As does Joel Ward and hasn’t been injured for the best part of 2 seasons

Nat Clyne can also put a shift in at LB.
