That's the Palace way nowadays. Freedman and Parish buy (or loan) the players and the manager leaves them out as he doesn't fancy them with Roy being the worst culprit

And none have gone on to prove him wrong

The fact that he has so many assists is encouraging. As much as I bash our strikers, they haven't always had the best service so I can imagine this lad and Olise on the wings could be outstanding.

Ideal scenario we get him and keep Zaha too, seeing as Wilf is getting on a bit and has picked up a few injuries recently.

Another alternative would be Callum Hudson-Odoi who is apparently available for less than £10m from Chelsea. Still 22 and feel as though if someone could get his career back on track he could be a bargain.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

You've just agreed with me although I doubt whether that was your intention

Local boy as well. I'd deffo be up for this.

However he's played UCL this season. I suspect he'll see himself as a top 4 club player.

He might well do but he wouldn’t be a starter, so it would be a case of , “come and play for Palace”, or sit on the bench in a Euro squad.

If the club thought they could get Odoi, back on track, he might well be a worthwhile proposition. Still young yet quiet experienced ,if the right price range
As far as ,whether he would come to a club like ours, outside of him not trusting himself ,why not? We now have a number of players that have improved their future prospects with us, and Chelsea, have benefited significantly on two occasions, and Guehi, came to us from that club and look at the interest in him now

I suspect that attitude is his problem reeks of Dele Ali.

I do think it depends on how we're going to setup next season. If we're going to be a counter-attacking team then I would argue we need a more powerful, pacey forward who can bully defenders the way Zaha and Bolasie before him have done. If we're going down the Potter route with more possession then he may well fit in really well. He doesn't look Eze/Olise level to me though, but I'd be happy to be proved wrong.

You say that but he's currently being linked with Forest so you'd hope we could compete with them.

I haven't seen anything linking him with us to be fair but just seems like a transfer with a lot more potential upside than downside.

We can't compete with Forest. We are prudent and sensible. Forest are profligate.

Gibbs White.

Agreed Gibbs White is a good player but the price they paid for him means there is little opportunity for re-sale value.

As for us buying Clarke we don't appear to get involved in auctions bidding against other PL clubs. We seem to make a bid and leave it there other clubs know this so if they really want a player they just do a West Ham e.g. match our offer on wages and up the transfer fee.

By the way our strategy is not a bad one. I prefer players who are desperate to sign for us rather than ones playing us off against other clubs.
