Does anyone seriously believe that Russian interference in the 2016 US Presidential election, and Western politics generally, is a hoax? I don't. Nor do I think that an investigation into whether the Trump campaign was actively encouraging it, or simply taking advantage of it, was a hoax. There was enough circumstantial evidence in plain sight to justify it, let alone what the intelligence sources were providing. Unproven is not the same as not guilty. The jury has not been convened yet.

There are rules (that in theory) the judicial system must follow. Circumstantial evidence, as you well know, is not cause for a conviction. You can't pick and choose on which cases you are going to stick to the rules, and others you'll ignore due process. Innocent until proven guilty.
