Apparently he was the best player on the pitch throughout, a class above.

I realise he's moved on and we've moved on, and everyone's agreed that in hindsight the Spurs move was a terrible decision.

But it only occurred to me yesterday that he's just a year older than Wilf.

There's a parallel universe where he's had a decade in the Premier League playing in unison with Zaha, Clyne, AWB etc.

He's been married for years, and has lived in a variety of countries with fulfilling life experiences, so good luck to him. I doubt he has any regrets.

Didn't he play at Selhurst a few seasons back in a pre-season friendly for Toulouse?

Yes, he did and at the time I commented on here he looked the best player on the park - only to be shot down in flames !

The anger aimed at him was because of the way he departed our club after all the work developing him and mostly as I recall the amount in compensation we received, at the time no one had really mentioned his step dads involvement.

At the lower league level yes. He has had ample opportunities since he left Spurs to re-build his career at a higher level and couldn't cut it.

We will never know if he had stayed what his career would have been like but I still suspect he would have been an average Championship level player who showed early promise but never kicked on.

I think about players like Wayne Routledge he came into our team at a young age and I thought wow this guy will really kick on in 2/3 years. He was a decent player who had a decent career but he matured young and never achieved the early promise.

Spurs have 'form' of unsettling our young players and then trying to buy them on the cheap. Bostock and Routledge both fit this approach.
Hopefully Palace use these 2 as examples of what not to do when a young player gets tapped up.

Routledge at least had a reasonably successful career - over 500 appearances, over half of which were in the top flight.

Bostock's career reminds me of Ravel Morrison's a bit. Clearly talented, but has never settled anywhere and ultimately has not realised his potential. Trying that penalty at such a crucial point sums him up really. Both brilliant and mad to try it.
