His hand had just pulled away from grabbing Lerma’s shirt. It was a closed hand.

I think.... after the shirt pull he was jsut trying to move past him and was intending to almost get his arm over Lerma's shoulder (as you would if you are trying to get past someone blocking you).

But I know that sounds like rose tinted specs....

Am surprised it wasn't given

There was no concrete evidence that it was an intentional punch with the intention of inflicting damage.
There was contact but contact occurs in the area in such situations with players in close proximity, jostling etc etc.

I can't believe that any footballer not called Suarez or Jones would intentionally punch someone like that. Angles can be deceiving. Thats pretty Much what I thought. I can't believe that any footballer not called Suarez or Jones would intentionally punch someone like that.
Angles can be deceiving.

I think he deserved any benefit of doubt. Lerma, for money is always adept at getting involved in these type of situations, usually he is dishing it out. Did anyone see any blood ? I didn’t maybe I missed something, but most broken noses have plenty of that stuff. It seems even with VAR, you can’t satisfy everyone ,including Sky.

I think he deserved any benefit of doubt. Lerma, for money is always adept at getting involved in these type of situations, usually he is dishing it out.
Did anyone see any blood ? I didn’t maybe I missed something, but most broken noses have plenty of that stuff.
It seems even with VAR, you can’t satisfy everyone ,including Sky.
