Two Palace truths: 1. As soon as a member of HOL starts a thread entitled: 'Can we win our next 7 matches?' (or some other number) Firstly I point out that the first question should be 'Will?' and not 'Can?' and then our results go into freefall. 2. If a Palace manager wins Manager of the Month (as would be a strong possibility had this 'Top 10 Finish?' thread not been started), then our results go into freefall.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Given our results oft go into free fall perhaps not too amazing. I have however banned myself from slagging off any opposition players during the week, before or in game, as they will inevitably score against us. I had the audacity to mock WHU’s 2 goal deficit after 10 mins today. Serves me right. Edited by Nicholas91 (16 Apr 2023 6.55pm)
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I would say Fulham away is our toughest game. Though Bournemouth at home is not as easy as it was previously. I watched the highlights of the Spurs game, and they were quite frankly awful. If we go there with belief, as Bournemouth did yesterday, a result is definately possible. We normally have a good showing at Wolves, Everton at home will be a battle (but I expect us to win), Forest will likely be down by the last day so I don't foresee problems there. West Ham at home could be the banana skin.

Aston Villa:Current par of 60 points Brentford: Current par of 52 points Fulham: Current par of 50 points Chelsea:Current par of 49 points Crystal Palace : Current par of 47 points Given maximum possible point tally of 57 points, Chelsea ,fulham and brentford are teams we can reasonably finish above , Aston villa and above look to be a lot tougher sadly no european football for us next season i fear.

Not sad at all. We're not wealthy enough to fund premiere league progress and two domestic cups and prosecute a campaign in the eurotrash competition all at the same time.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Good reality check for how difficult it really is to compete on both fronts. Looks like Brighton could be doing it next year, and strength in depth looks like a big problem for them as it will be for any of the non top-6 who enter. Newcastle will need enormous investment to sustain PL and CL.

If we don't make the top 10, there will be some pundits saying we would have done if Vieira hadn't been sacked

Having resigned to the fact that Brighton (come on hands up) have had a brilliant season along with playing some decent football I will live in the reasonable hope and expectation that on entering next season with European football on the fixture list they will proceed to do a Charlton/Bolton/Wigan /Swansea/Hull to name a few and end up in league 1
