Yes, if Roy wants to stay he should, i think he is licking his lips at the quality he now has, in my opinion, do not keep Wilf, let him go, keep all top players, try to slowly introduce some younger players to the squad, Rak-Sakyi, Phillips and O´Brien may be ready, under no circumstances buy Gallagher, unless Eze leaves, a RB and a CF and a Wilf replacement are the key buys for me, Ward a one year extension, Wilf, McArthur, Tomkins, Clyne and Luka to leave, see if we can offload Jairo and one of the two strikers,
about 400/500k a week available next year.

I'd be surprised if we released/sold 7 players. Wilf, luca + mateta??

Forget next August a minute. Literally one month ago we were all very worried.
Parish made a huge shout and brought back Hodgson. Many felt it would take us backwards, ensure relegation etc etc.
instead the Eagles are soaring.
Hats off to Parish. That was a helluva call and he got it bang on.
Well done SP.

Well on board with this and Croydon trucker and swordfish

That sort of weekly saving is about 30% of our annual staff costs. Massive war chest.

Dougie's got some young Irish and Scottish lined up. We'll never see them again after the initial signing, it's like a long game of 'Guess Who'. If I were to put Banks' picture here would anyone know who it was? O'Brien maybe?
As stated earlier, a new Director of Football who knew what he was doing would be helpful.

If he really did put his season ticket in the bin, then that's going to be expensive given it's probably on his phone now...

Reminds me of one season where someone in the Whitehorse went over the barrier and threw his season ticket on the ground and stormed off when we were playing badly. Would have had more affect if it wasn't the last game of the season (so the ticket was in the bin anyway as it was back when they were paper ones) and that we went on to win.

Totally agree that we need to release some deadwood, but I have a problem with letting Jimmy Mac go.
He’s not got a lot left in him as a first teamer these days but,
A/ he’s not let us down when he’s come on lately. He’s still a strong squad member.
B/ I understand he is immense in the background. Players young and old look up to him. For this reason he’s well worth keeping with maybe a view to a coaching/managerial future.

In STAGEs perhaps?

(Do I get a bonus point for a Doris Day reference?)

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

After Mr Hodgson was appointed a Liverpool supporter I have known for a few years playfully jested that we would be fine now that he was at the helm and it was patently obvious he was engaging in a josh not believing a word of it!

When our paths crossed on Saturday, I bellowed out "I told you he was good" !

Everyone loves Jimmy and he has been a great servant to the club. However, he's on £55k to £60k a week. He has been injured for almost all this season and second half of last season. These injuries are unrelated to his long term back injury which he needs to 'manage' and was the reason he retired from international football a few years ago.
Unfortunately his body is no longer capable of playing regularly at this level.
Paying someone £3m because they are good in the background is not a good business decision.
If he wants one more season i suspect he will go back to Scotland

We need a lb and rb, Mitchell should be a squad player and ward and Clyne shouldn't be anywhere near a starting line up.

Southampton have tasty fullbacks. And in excellent Palace tradition, one of them has been injured for a year.
