i couldn't get that link to work - this takes you the CPFC2010 accounts page. Good to see wages going down but the overall loan size is a little worrying, especially as the bank loan is charged at 7.5% and the internal loan is 5%. Interesting that c£14.5m is payable on transfers based on appearances - these are the add ons that are mentioned but never clarified in transfers. Looks like SP earned £1.7m last year, the only director who takes a wage.

Based on this, Im struggling to see how any new stand would be financed. I would reconsider the whole idea, as I have previously posted.

The UK accounts do not and can not ever tell the full story. Sitting above them are a whole raft of overseas companies, LLP's and other partnerships based overseas and controlled by the US and to a lesser extent UK investors. A lot of these are fiscally opaque Nd do not need to file accounts. So hard to say what a true position is.

The poster few comments above who mentioned about the stadium the numbers never added up anyway SP made a lot of claims and everyone of them was misleading from the claimed revenue it would generate to how much the project would cost. I remember looking at the books after we sold AWB and not long after we took out a 30m loan when didn't we sell him for 55m from what I remember. SP really isnt this level need someone else to take over at this stage we should have advanced but if it wasnt for Textor we wouldn't even have the academy (club is still run like small one because that is SP skill level)

However, in the most recent accounts we can assume we have still had no major player sales (to date), the wage bill hasn’t halved and the has been no new investment. In the last 3 financial years, our net debt has continued to grow (now beyond £100m), we are borrowing more money and in the last 10 years, there has been no clear strategy on how we are going to pay all this back? I can see us selling a star player summer 2024, and then from each summer after that - we won't be keeping MG, JA at the back long term, sadly... I could be wrong.. and our midfield, the natural progression of Eze and Olise will be bigger clubs...I think always we have learnt from Zaha, not being a one man team... and cashing in when the time is right...

With reference to the £1.7 Million paid to SP the accounting statement does also go on to say that point the majority of that relates to an unpaid bonus which is expected to be reinvested back into the club. Originally posted by palace99

Yup the Southampton model, works well for the board for a couple of seasons and then like Mother Hubbard.... I suppose the question is not who we sell but who we buy as a replacement. Edited by Badger11 (20 Apr 2023 8.19am) I think the model looked towards now of selling star players but becoming stronger as a squad is that of Brighton not Saints. Pains me to say but they have done it very well. I think outside of the BIG clubs this is really the only feasible model for the rest, where it breaks down is how you reinvest. Brighton have largely done it well, Saints and Leicester on the other hand not so well. So far for Brighton it's been plain sailing for Brighton and they've fairly reaped a lot of plaudits but I can see this summer being a bigger test for them as they'll likely have the heart of the team ripped out with Macallister and Caicedo leaving. Then there will be more pressure on them before to get the right replacements who'll this time round need to be immediately ready for the prem and likely European football. But that's enough about them, I feel dirty for even contemplating their future, fingers crossed they implode haha Edited by samprior (20 Apr 2023 10.51am) Edited by samprior (20 Apr 2023 10.58am)

Said it before, we can be a stepping stone club, they join us, then go higher up.. we sell on and take a profit. But a really good network is needed to find these gems...

The Athletic have done a piece on Palace's latest accounts, backed by comments from a so-called football finance expert, the upshot of which is: That's been my feeling all along - namely if we want to upgrade certain positions we will probably need to sell Guehi. I don't see us going for any Wilf replacement when he leaves. I can see Parish asking the manager to use Ayew in that position, as long as we are able to keep Eze and Olise. If we can get 40m for Guehi, that's probably 3 new players including, of course a replacement for him. I believe some of the Academy players will be asked to step up to the first team squad bench - the most likely being: just my opinion, of course, but then I am Doombear, after all.
