Personally I think Patrick was unlucky with the fixture list after Xmas , ten tough games, never been a fan of shlupp and couldn’t understand why he started almost every game, under Roy he looks a completely different player now

Agreed. Considering Vieira hasn't been playing Eze, the team didn't look confident, none of the basics looked anywhere near up to scratch. (Passing, pressing, chasing down players, shooting, link up play etc) I'm not sure Vieira would've got the team going. What ever Roy has done with the lads in a short period, it seems to work and shows that the calibre of players we do have may be light in terms of squad numbers but the players we do have, are capable of putting in a shift and performance with the right personell coaching them.

Lanzo all I’m not a Patrick lover he just hit a very tough run of fixtures a couple of wins in there and maybe he would have survived, that’s football for you , Roy has been given a run of winnable fixtures with a very talented team , will be interesting if he makes it as a manager in the future somewhere else

Roy has made some slight but important changes, playing Eze on the right. Ward at right back (more offensive) and it would appear giving the players more freedom and confidence. I am sure there is much more but what ever it is working.

Absolutely agree. Being pedantic it’s scored 7 in last two games. Tired of hearing Vieira had a tough run of fixtures. I believe in his last 15 games in charge there was only one win and 8 points earned. That’s getting on for half a season of matches. Pathetic performance and at any club would have led to the sack well before it came. Surrounding himself with inadequate coaching staff with apparently a softly softly approach only ever allowed (thus the exit of Sean Derry) just compounded his inadequacies. That a 75 year old dragged out of retirement can bring about such a transformation in less than 3 weeks tells you all you need to know about the difference between a poor manager and a good one. Well done Roy and Ray!

Do you seriously think Roy or Patrick would want that. Mr Hodgson is coming to the end of his managerial time and PV is/was beginning.

Both Roy and Vieira had very good records against teams below us (Vieira's was actually better than Roy's, albeit over a shorter period). Would Roy have got more points from our run of fixtures after Christmas? Old Roy suggests not, but new Roy suggests possibly! Roy was right today when he said after the game that you have to enjoy these days knowing darker ones are always round the corner. Whichever way you look at it our fixture list was stupid this season and I think it really dented the players' (and Vieira's) confidence. I think changing manager just before the so-called easier games was good timing, but we'll never know if PV would have got the same results. Remember it was similar earlier in the season when Leeds dominated, when 1-0 up and then second half they ran out of steam we were the better team and ended up winning with an Eze goal from an Olise cross. Whatever the case, let's make hay while the sun shines. I dont think Parish will be asking Vieira to return and help out, like he has with Roy.
