Ferguson must be going through hell - he must be in his spare time doing further education Ie Coaching badges , Accounting ,business studies, hopefully not just PlayStation with the lads.

Match winning performance from Johnstone in a pressure cooker. Superb.
VG’s had another good season but a real chance for him to claim the shirt

I feel Roy will stay with Johnstone at Southampton, even if VG is fit.

I hope so, i wonder if Matthews and Whitworth are good enough for 2nd and 3rd choice, it so flog Guaita for 32m

Remi Matthews is currently on Loan at St Johnstone who are 9th out of 12th in the Scottish Premiership.
He is composed and a good kicker of the ball but at 6ft he is not that tall for a goalkeeper.
I believe that Joe Whitworth is the same height.

Matthews came from Sunderland. A Sunderland fan I know described him as the worst goalkeeper he had ever seen and was astonished when we signed him. Mind you, many players have failed to shine at Sunderland over the years.

Johnstone did well. If we had him in goal for the remainder of the season I'd be fine with that.
Out of choice and by a fine margin I would have Guaita. He's kind of earned it.
Did anyone else panic when Johnstone punched the ball early in the game when a catch should have been on. Some fine saves after so forgiven.
Matthews was always a no3 so can't be critical of that. Many teams have random no3's. Stick with Whitworth next season.

It was Phil Parkinson, currently Wrexham manager, who signed him for Sunderland from Bolton on a 'Free'. He was No 2 to Lee Burge, and No 3 was current Sunderland No 1 Anthony Patterson.

I hope Roy keeps Johnstone as our No1. He looked to me so much better than VG. I would let Vincenze go now.

Flinders is at Mansfield and is currently No 2 to Christy Pym who is on loan from Peterborough.
