Perhaps the authorities should make over acting a yellow card offence There is but you dont expect the England captain to join in, he is supposed to be setting a good example . Simulation or decieving a match official is already a yellow card and punnishment can be retrospectivly applied This may be of interest [Link] Kane did get a yellow for his part in the scuffle , another yellow for simulation should be applied (if the panel deem it ) resulting in a one match ban .

Big games tonight … need the scum to do us a favour , would like villa to do us a favour , and I’m not really sure what best outcome would be Leeds game , probably forest to win to keep Leeds heads down before we play them

Perhaps the authorities should make over acting a yellow card offence The rules say hand to face is a red, so Kane's play acting is irrelevant as contact was made. However, because of those rules, plenty of players are faking it. Contact with shoulder/upper chest and the player is rolling around hands in face. VAR should assess after the game and dish out retrospective yellow cards for simulation.

The trouble with handing out punishment after the game has ended is that it doesn't help the team that has been on the wrong end of the situation - & if it transpires that by the totting up of cards the player simulating misses the next game it only helps their next opponents. I've been impressed by Everton under Dyche. If DCL wasn't eternally injured I'd be confident of them staying up, but without him they do seem to be having to rely on their defenders as their main attacking threat! I hope they go down if we stay up as I think Sean will make them a totally different proposition with a preseason under his belt and a couple of signings that fit his style. On a side note, I still find myself looking at Everton and wondering where all their money went as their team looks bang average.

One only has to look at their current squad of players and they cost in excess of £300 Mill. Edited by Willo (04 Apr 2023 1.57pm)

If the ref is positive there was contact off you go. If he is as near as damn, it goes to VAR. Both players face risk. If, as seems to happen a lot, player goes down holding face and ref just gives free kick with no sanction, VAR assesses after match. The peril the rule would seek to address is simulation not violent conduct. The player will know as a matter of near certainty that he will be carded one way or the other if he simulates face contact. It will stop.

We are in charge of our destiny and that's all we need to focus on. Given our run-in compared to others around us, our league position/current points tally and then as I've said on so many occasions the comparative qualities of the squads - we just need to focus on getting our business done. Do that and the rest will take care of itself, whilst we look on from upon high..!! Put simply given our remaining fixtures, current position and quality of our squad - if we can't achieve the required points to stay in the Division - we don't deserve to be in the Division. It's really that simple and if we are relegated from this position the fault would be all ours - and not what others do/did around us..!! COYP
