In the last few games under Viera he was looking unfit, disinterested and bang average. In 2 weeks under Roy he is back to his best. Don't forget in the early part of the season he was also playing well and would have been one of the first names on the team sheet.

Wow. One decent game in a long time and he's Ballon D'Or material again. Yes, he had a good game. Yes, he can be a lazy so and so. Therefore it is up to him where he wants to go with his career. I've always said he has the raw ability, it's been the application that has been missing. Was it PV's slack management? Or has Roy said the right words at the right time? Time will tell, Eze has between now and the end of the season to really show us he is capable of consistent match winning performances.

Wow. One decent game in a long time and he's Ballon D'Or material again. Yes, he had a good game. Yes, he can be a lazy so and so. Therefore it is up to him where he wants to go with his career. I've always said he has the raw ability, it's been the application that has been missing. Was it PV's slack management? Or has Roy said the right words at the right time? TBH I think it was PV's tactics. The slow movement of the ball plus not getting players forward and/or at pace meant that whenever Eze did actually play it was sort of a case of 'there you go, do something with that' as opposed to actually receiving the ball in moments where he was able to work some magic. That and I would dare to suggest just generally not being fit enough. Either way the 'Ballon D'or' comment made me laugh but he went from looking like he did and would never recover from injury, unfit, lightweight and ineffective to once again looking a menace, gliding past players, quick feet, a footballing brain and getting us a goal under Roy. Looked slimmer/fitter too from where I was sitting but that may just be me! I honestly thought it might signal the end, or the end of any hype around Eze. It's back on now. Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I say could be because he needs to start performing like that more often.

It’s a valid point that he had less space to play in during the recent run against the top teams. Leicester was the opposite. Hopefully that will give him the confidence to push on for the rest of the season.

His form is more important to us now that Zaha could be out for a while

He is a player that will look great with the ball, but distinctly average without it. Same as Wilf and Olise. We need to give these guys a platform to perform

100%. He never lost it.

He is a player that will look great with the ball, but distinctly average without it. Same as Wilf and Olise.

We need to give these guys a platform to perform

Some of Eze’s best work on Saturday was in the inside right position in the first half. There was some good interplay with Olise on his outside and it helped to balance the left hand side where Schlupp and Zaha were providing a threat. It must be acknowledged though that he was largely up against Dewsbury Hall who is more of an offensive player rather than defensive tackler. Eze won’t always have the luxury of the space he was afforded on Saturday. For me the jury is still out on Eze until he produces 3 good performances in 5 rather than 1 in 5. There is no disputing his talent, but we all want to see him having a more consistent influence on games.
