I would be playing Richards in the middle with Guehi and Andersen at RB if I wanted to play all three .

I certainly would not disturb the central defensive partnership of Guehi and Andersen, besides I doubt that Andersen would be an effective right-back.He is certainly not that fleet of foot and would get exposed out wide.

With the rumours of Adi Hutter having talks with us, I've been looking up his tactical style. He likes to play 5 at the back with wingbacks. We would need to recruit wingbacks. However, in the back 3 he likes one central defender who can pick a pass and two who split out wide to overload that area to keep possession at thhe back. I can certainly see Andersen in the centre and Guehi and Richards either side of him would fit well.

I can't imagine Roy doing anything radical like 3 at the back, so it's Ward or Clyne. Sounding out concern for the right back position when the left back position is equally suspect, if not more so, just highlights the paucity of choice Hodgson has tactically.

Richards has played FB in the Bundeslige, so can’t be that bad. I believe he is a very good player and do not understand playing Tomkins ahead of him. When he had a run of games, was Playerof the month ( I know, not that difficult this season )

I can just imagine a poster on a German club fans' forum saying, "JP Mateta has played up front in the Premier League, so can't be that bad".

Or Edouard...

I’d play CR at Left and Right back at the same time. Our current full backs have got to be the worst in the league.

I don't think they'd be that far from the worst in the Championship too.

Bit off subject, but about a full back, I saw Papa Souare today, at MKdons, he now plays for Morecombe, really nice to see him playing, was a class act before his road accident, played about 70 mins, good luck to him

Always liked him. Stick the cross in for Wickham against Watford at Wembley if I remember correctly? Highlight for me.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The first player to be banned for simulation in England, in our Home again against Everton in November 2017.

If I remember correctly Richard’s came on to cover at left back in the Brentford match recently and that didn’t go so well with the last minute equaliser as he wasn’t tight enough on the player that crossed it? I think Ward and Clyne both suffer with Olise playing on the right and his defensive duties aren’t good enough. That’s what needs working on if he is to make the starting 11 under Hodgson in my opinion? Richard’s would be better playing as a 3rd centre back with two wingbacks but that means changing our formation which I don’t see Hodgson doing?

That's been a massive problem for the whole season! It's a joke that he gets slammed for that goal considering there were two unmarked players completely free on the end of that cross!! Richards for me has been outstanding and such a waste of talent not to fit him in somewhere.
