This is totally the Boards fault . Not releasing /given PV the funds to buy a goal scorer in january , simple as .Instead we get one youngster and one loanee .this is not good enough . Getting rid of PV will make no difference when the playing staff as a whole is not up to the job.
We have great flair players but no work horses ,like a young Jimmy mac or a Connor Gallagher ,fighters not primadonnas and showmen, they are reserved for top of the table teams ,not teams at the wrong end of the table . The heart and Soul of Place has gone , our recruitment is embarrassing along with our board . I fear this year will be our last in this division, unless Parish finds some money or sells the club to some rich arab . And let's not mention Brighton , or should we because there scouting and recruitment policy makes us look a non league outfit / Just my opinion !!!!!

Bizarre Vieira interview on club homepage:

We should create “more” chances.

More?

We so not create any!!!

Sean Dyche’s Everton edging away from relegation zone.
Just saying.

I think he should be given until the Leicester home game.
In other words if we fail to get points in the next three games we may need to make a change.
We're not being outplayed and remain competitive in games but just carry no threat going forward.
We don't look like addressing this lack of threat either.
Today's display had a lot to commend, but coming on top of a winless and goalless run it doesn't stand for a lot.

‘Vi eria’ is the part of the pitch where we need to both get the ball into and have a player designated to operate within to score goals.

Unfortunately we have been shooting at our own goal from within vi eria and now giving away fouls there too.

Ol’ Pat seems to have the tactical board up the wrong way round however and that might soon cost him his job. There’d be little in a way of an argument against it.

I think he should be given a bit more time but I am starting to lose faith. He doesn’t seem to pick the correct team for the specific game in front of him. He chops and changes and tinkers. We have the players to survive if you take the team that finished tonight’s game plus Clynn, Decoure, Richards, Hughes’s and. macca —— Just please let’s not see Mateta, Luka, Schlupp and Ayew anywhere near the team (not even on the bench) — he hasn’t worked out these are no longer prem standard

The team is certainly going backwards under PV, odd substitutions, odd selections, tonight, why in God's name Luka and not the new lad from Stuttgart ?? Wilf not exactly putting it in and the continuous refusal to start with a recognised forward, so not exactly a surprise that we have had a complete dearth of shots on target in recent games.
This may well be a significant week for him especially when we suffer a toothless debacle at the Gaymex on Wednesday.
However, the root of current problems goes far deeper. Last season PV certainly benefited from substantial investment in the summer window 2021 (from John Textor) which gave him better options than currently.
Since then we have had 3 windows with at best poor investment in the side, Benteke was not replaced and any of the youngsters with any sign of potential have been shipped off on loan.
Shaun Derry was clearly dispensed with for not following the party line.
Going to the game tonight and seeing the line-up, it had the feel of one those early games in the first season under Holloway when it was really a case of setting up and saying to the opposition ' can we have the ball back Mister ?'
After 10 years at this level, count them !! We have, thanks to Mr Parish's complacency and arrogance, particularly this year around the January window, the feel of a Championship club with a lop-sided squad and not a medium-sized established Premiership one.
His priorities appear to be the Academy (more useful in the Championship) and a bigger Main Stand (less so in the Championship).
Relegation to the Championship could quite easily come to pass (maybe a few more of the fan base now have the heads out of the sand on this) because despite the pointless speculation by other posters elsewhere on this site about where points will be won and how many will be needed to stay up, points are actually won on the pitch and currently where is the next goal or win coming from ??
All the teams below us have goals in them and better investment in their squads and unlike our players, they battle.
They will also be licking their lips at the prospect of only having to score once to win !!

Ahamada has virtually no experience in the PL. So if he is expected to withstand City's pressure for 90 minutes, it might be too big a task for him, or at least a very risky option. I'm by no means a fan of the underperforming Luka, but I had some sympathy for him starting.

That all sounds very emotive and quite scathing but in reality it’s hard to argue with.

I honestly believe the board, including these ‘investors’ thought ‘we’ll be fine this season after last and if we want to spend money it’ll be elsewhere’. Very naive and potentially disastrous now.

If I want to point a finger of blame it’s at them but the statistics are embarrassing of if nothing else and we look up a certain familiar creek however without even an hint of any proverbial paddles.

I’m not pointing a finger at PV, nor do I wish to express any ire towards him, but I will say wherever the blame lies is almost irrelevant now, we need solutions and I am certain PV cannot provide them. The team selections, tactical approach (or lack of) body language, demeanour, lack of cohesion, leadership and spirit on the pitch all point to something seriously wrong and not salvageable by sticking with the status quo. I don’t see the point in him leading us out for another game, spare him the grief, give the fans and perhaps players some belief action is being taken and start strategising next move. Not doing so just feels like a delaying of the inevitable and prolonging of this agony.

We are playing extremely negative football. We're setup to try to not lose rather than be positive and going out to try and win. In the beginning we did this and it was amazing to watch. We played strikers from the start. Unfortunately I think the damage is done and confidence is so low I can't see us staying up under the current management especially with so many decent clubs beneath us. It's a shame.

Absolutely agree up to and including it being a shame.
