Wow I must have been watching a different game he showed nothing to convince me he would be a prolific goal scorer in the Premiership.COYP

Don’t think he was helped by the rest of the team who are mostly awful.

He’s a better player than Akpom. A real all rounder up front. A poor man’s Kane if you like but as others have said, he is miles better than what we have. I also like Hamer, but he is too much like Eze, so not really required.

The other one at Coventry who I highly rate is the Jamaican international 26 year old Kasey Palmer who came on yesterday but had to go off again due to a hamstring problem. He is an attacking midfielder who would be a good replacement for McArthur.

Coventry signed him on a 'Free' from Bristol C.
He is essentially a No 10 and I have never been overly impressed with him.

I would rather have Akpom than him. Akpom could play the false 9 role very well and with Olise and Eze in the side if things click he can easily be a 15+ goal a season player.

Not seen a 15 goal EPL striker or more since Benteke in the 16/17 EPL season and I think Zaha got his highest goals last year 14 EPL goals. If Palace get someone who averages 15 EPL goals a year they will easily become a top 10 established side that is what is stopping them going to the next level. A new RB, midfielder (Lerma is joining most likely), winger (if Zaha leaves Rak Sakyi could be given more minutes or Palace might need to buy another winger) and of course they have been crying out for a ST for a long time.

Best player on the pitch this evening.

Totally agree. Had some excellent touches, feints and control which would have paid off if he had better players around him.

He will be snapped up and do well in the PL - do hope it is with us.

Just watch him for 5 minutes. Yep sold, sign him up (if he's not going for silly money). Huge improvement on the two we have now. Mind you that isn't saying much. But he can hold the ball up well, which isn't easy in the very physical championship, and knows how to find the auld onion bag, so well worth a punt.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

In the sense that he holds the record (by his own boast) of conjugal relations closest to kick off?

haven't seen enough of him to have a strong opinion, however, his goalscoring record over the last 2 years is decent.

My observation is that Southampton have gone down the championship striker route twice in recent years - Adams and Armstrong (who we were strongly linked with) both for c£15m.

Neither has been a great success.

The gap between Champ and Prem is massive.

As we have shown with Guehi, Olise and Eze you really need to buy quality. Easier said than done!

Gyokeres is definitely better than Adams and Armstrong, I’d say he is more like Kane in the way he plays, but certainly not as prolific at this stage in his career. He can shoot with both feet and will drift out to the wing (left normally) to link up with midfield players running onto the ball. At anything up to £22m-£25m I think he is worth buying.
