£130k isn't a bad wage. Cant see any truth in the Saudi thing, he's been on good money for a long time. It's silverware he wants

Life after Zaha will have to restart all over again, rather like the effect of a nuclear holocaust. The year 2024 AD for example, will be 1 AW (After Wilf), and so on.

I would have thought Lyon would be a good move for all involved but they are currently struggling to get into the champions league this season

Dear oh dear, what a panic over one player past his best on a wage that is vastly inflated for his current standard. The world goes on and the club will manage. No need for a statue or anything daft, a thank you for the good times and fare thee well. Edited by southnorwoodhill (21 Feb 2023 6.48pm)

Wilf is probably the most talented player we have ever had, albeit with a crossing ability at League 2 level. We have bough well with Eze, Olise, Andersen and Decoure and this standard of signings will have to continue in the Summer irrespective of Wilf going or not. We will certainly be stronger with him in any case. I hope he stays till retirement.

Despite all of the years supporting the club, Zaha knows that it can only go so far as current floundering status is proving with no wins in 2023. Style of football has undoubtedly improved under Vieira whose ultimate task now is to prevent Palace dropping into the relegation zone. Most recent transfer windows have not proven to be particularly fruitful for a club that should be following along like the likes of Brighton and Brentford who have planned and executed particularly well for 'middling clubs' in The Premiership. No doubting that Zaha is Palace through-and-through but he must surely have 'Groundhog Day' coursing through his veins during (and especially at the end of) each season. Saturday's 96th min. equaliser by Brentford being one such example.

A player who is often touted as the best outside the top 6, on a wage that is on par with the non-superstars at at the top 6. Also from a team contribution perspective, Luka and Jairo have the same combined wage as Wilf. I know who I'd rather have

Wilf moving on has been a subject on here for as long as I can remember, if its at the end of the season lets get on with it & next season we can face the future with a squad that wants to be here, we will undoubtedly miss him but the gap that he leaves provides an opportunity for the next guy to step up, no doubt there will be miss steps along the way whilst we come to terms with his absence, after all this is Palace, but if Wilf doesn't want to sign the Zaha saga will have ultimately run its course.

Wilf is an iconic player for Palace for a reason. He's an amazing player with a great engine. There will be a huge gap when Wilf leaves, and he'll leave a huge gap. Post Wilf will be a very dangerous time for Palace and we could easily get relegated. Given that wonderful servants to the club like Ward will also be going in the summer. Fingers and toes crossed!

As someone else posted, we’re doing really well without him atm. Until we can replace his goals we’re in trouble. And I have no faith in that happening.
