I wouldn't read too much into anyone beating Chelsea at the moment The fact remains the teams in the bottom 4/5 will have to play like top six contenders to get away from the bottom Maybe even Palace could beat Chelsea at the present time, even though we are winless in 12!!

No team is doomed yet with 3 points for a win & 14 games left. Likewise certain teams are not safe either which you could be forgiven was not the case, reading certain posts on here.

Picked up a massive win yesterday , all 3 teams in relegation zone on 21 points this stage last season 3rd bottom had 21 but the other two were on 18 and 15 , Watford were cut adrift where as this season is tight as ever Concerning
“This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder |

Concerning indeed. As you said, normally are this point there would be 1, maybe 2 that were basically already down. Whilst they are terrible, they have proved they can pick up a few wins here and there. Now 2 behind us.

Southampton, bottom of the table again. Having played a game more than most other teams down there. Another home loss. my argument is that, its not the points-gap that matters.....its the number of teams above you. You get a win, and so does somebody else. its like playing chasing with somebody exactly as fast as yourself.....you may never ever catch them. Even as they are only a few feet in front of you. A Draw is still a good result for Palace or Nottingham. Southampton now need snookers, need wins. Even if Southampton are now a better squad than either of those two. Palace is one of the very few teams to be bottom of the table at Christmas and yet still survive. 18th March, Southampton are bottom. Edited by PalazioVecchio (18 Mar 2023 8.26pm)

2nd April........bottom of the table. 3 Points adrift. Sh1tty goal-difference. Having played an extra game. Gone the only undecided question.....whether Southampton will finish above or below Leicester - who are also looking doomed. Maybe Jug-ears Linekar can dip into his big Lefty bank account and save the Foxes ? Edited by PalazioVecchio (02 Apr 2023 8.18pm)

You would expect at the very least teams at the bottom would show some fight . Spam v saints yesterday was like a pre season freindly .Lots of expensive players going through the motions . They look the worst sides down there at present

If, as looks likely Southampton will go, Walker Peters would be a good upgrade if we are looking for a new RB
