The moral of this story is that PV was correct to drop Eze, future Ballon D'Or winner. Perhaps he and Schlupp are more effective entering the game when it has opened out a bit. No, he should play instead of the hopeless, non position, Edouard.

Dear Lanzo (and/or Willo) May we have the equivalent stats for our two goal-starved strikers. Mateta and Edouard ? You have always championed Jean-Paul but have been a bit dismissive of Edouard. Until we get a creative midfielder (maybe Doucoure could become one if he has defensive back-up) neither of the above will ever show their true talent (if any)

Sorry Willo I was addressing my remarks to your fellow statistician, Lanzo. No problem at all. Far from providing statistical information I sometimes conclude that on occasions I spoon-feed HOL warm diarrhoea !

Maybe Lanzo´s thoughts for today should become a daily feature

Neither gets the service they thrive on. Across the box or running on to a ball is their favoured style. Watch Eduoard for Celtic. Until we play this more often they won’t thrive. Getting the ball facing away from goal and turning a defender is a rare trait. Maybe only half a dozen in the prem and probably only low double figures in any top leagues.

Premier league and Palace Only: Wilf, goal every 348 mins, assist every 555 mins (5 out of 7 Pens) Wilf's adding goals in greater numbers to his game has been impressive. But the striking thing in all these statistics is that for a player who essentially has the skill set of a traditional winger - taking on and beating a man then getting the ball into the box - his end product is, by these statistics, extremely poor. I would argue that a player who does what Wilf does should be averaging far more than an assist every six or so matches.
