Less or more dead weight to carry? We'll soon find out. At least Richards gets a run out. Hope he doesn't get the blame if we get a drubbing.

Rashford would have been delighted to be up against Clyne and Tomkins so presumably the thinking is Richards may have a bit more pace to cover. Interested to see how we set up up front. Presumably Zaha play out left as usual and Edouard in behind Mateta with Eze on for Edouard later? I’d like to see Edouard given a shot on the left. It’s his natural position and Wilf has the ability and experience to play as a 10. Hughes needs a big game!

Finally Hughes gets to start over Schlupp in the league. He looks like he's desperate to start the way he's been playing of late so I hope he performs well even if we do lose. Be good to see Richards and what he's made of. Playing both Mateta and Edouard is either going to flummox United or it'll be a disaster and last until half-time and one of them will get hooked. Put Mateta up against Martinez and there's about a foot difference in height, so maybe we plan on going direct?

If nothing else it's a change, which is what most people have been asking for. Now it's up to Richards, Hughes, Mateta and Edouard to try and prove they should be regulars.

At least PV is giving it a go, I was dreading the same washed out line up. Of course this is a gamble and still a low chance of getting anything, but better than no chance with the team from the last few games.

Rather than PV being bold and refreshing, I get the feeling that he's clutching at straws. He'll chance upon his ideal team sooner or later. We'll see how it turns out shortly.

I like the pairing of Doucoure and Hughes in the middle. Usually it’s poor old Doucoure on his own and Schlupp buzzing around like a blue arsed fly.

Also very interested to see how Richards performs. I’ll cut him a bit of slack and wish him good luck.

This line up is plain weird.

Mats and Odds to start?!

I think someone's been at the mushrooms lol.

I presume Mateta plays up top, with a flexible three man line up of Olise, Zaha and Edouard behind him, rather than a front two of Mateta and Edouard. Still a slightly odd selection when we could have played a third midfielder instead of both our strikers.

Nervous about Richards. Talk about thrown in at the deep end.

There were loads of magic mushrooms near me in Oct. I’ve got bags of them in my shed. Never taken them before but am curious.

Actually, I've thought, for some time, that Edouard might make a decent attacking midfielder. At times he's shown flashes of good bursts with excellent control. Defenders hate being ran at.
