The routine BBC bashing in these pages never fails to amuse. It’s as predictable as the Biden or “lefty” bashing. All are favourite targets for the rehearsal of group think and prejudicial bile.

You can say whatever you like about the BBC, but it’s independence from government is much envied around the world and it’s output often the go to source of real information and trusted more than local broadcasters.

I much prefer it’s coverage to anything coming from a privately owned business. People like Murdoch, Harmsworth and Barclay seek to influence public opinion in ways which suit their political views. They don’t report the news.

Their chairman doesn't think they're that impartial.

We have dealt with this before. He is an ex banker with no experience in this area who has been imposed on the BBC by a government determined to interfere in its independence. So it’s hardly surprising he sings the pipers tune.

Some sensible noises but personally I don't hold out any hope for the BBC. It's holed below the waterline and would essentially need a root and branch clear out which won't happen.

Instead what you will get is this stuff, better presentation and words that indicate change but I highly doubt that the actual content on the screens will change from the liberal and brain dead slop they currently put out.

They will look to do the bare minimum to renew in 2027.

As you don’t pay a license fee, so cannot watch it, how do you know?

Do you form your opinions based on the reports by these middle of the road podcasters from the UK you claim to use. You know the ones. Those guys whose scripts could have been written in basements in the USA as the sentiments and language are so transparently identical..

Ironic, you say how would I know and then proceed to give an opinion on something you don't watch: classic WE.

My opinion is based purely upon watching the BBC for much of the 2010s. The idea that it's suddenly changed without a recruiting drive to achieve political diversity is a risible fantasy.

Much like your idea of who I follow politically, even when I tell you.

There you go, knocked you out of the park....go fetch the ball old bean.

They have spent what looks like an awful lot of money on a huge new studio if that counts as better presentation

I might not drool over them all but I watch enough to know their style, politics and where the ideas come from.

You admit your views are a decade out of date! Well that’s a first! I think they are 50 years out of date.

Oh I believe you you follow daily but you reference others often enough to know they aren’t your only sources of misinformation and in any case it’s really obvious where they dredge up their ideas from. Their whole ideological approach is rooted in that part of the right in the USA who are convinced the world is headed for an ultimate total disaster.

A former Director General has said the same. Guess he was imposed on them as well.

An article in that most unbiased of newspapers the Express?

About a comment made in 2010 about what Thompson perceived in 2004 on becoming DG?

Journalists as a group will tend to have more liberal views than the average user here. They are though professionals. The BBC has set ways of ensuring objectivity and neutrality. Humans fall sometimes but the BBC as a whole doesn’t. It’s the most trustworthy source of information on the planet.
