To pad out the thread a bit - this is the half time analysis from the Palace website: An often scrappy evening at St James' but Palace have equipped themselves well. They started strongest and had the best chance of the game through Mateta, but Newcastle grew into it as half-time approached.

Treatment of Jairo is a disgrace. Luka only gets these starts as Captain. He is a yellow card merchant, miles off Premier League pace, needs to be allowing other younger players to develop in this competition. Does my head in.
