erm...

GK: Pickford, Ramsdale, Pope

DEF: Trippier, Walker, Stones, Coady, Dier, White, Maguire, Shaw, Sessegnon.

MID: Rice, Henderson, Bellingham, Grealish, Mount, Saka, Maddison, Foden, J Ramsey.

FOR: Kane, Sterling, Rashford, Toney, Wilson

Best Team:

-----------Ramsdale
Trip - Stones - Coady - Shaw
------------Rice
-- Bellingham Maddision
Saka ----- Kane --- Foden

But this bunch of Players are the most overrated thing since Avatar Was released.

Getting Out of the groups stems on the infamously hard to predict 1st game vs Iran. Win that and well get through, anything else, and we'll find it tough against 2 teams who will really want to beat us..

Get through that then first proper team we come up against we'll lose. saying that, noones very good atm.
Brazil probably favourites, then Argentina and France.

Really weird, the year after our first final since ’66 expectations, morale and excitement have never been lower. I feel the same though.

England’s form is sh*te but mostly it’s just that this disgrace of a World Cup is hard to care about.

Rumours are Toney and Maddison not in. No place fir Tomori Guehi or Abraham.
If Maddison’s lack of discipline, a few backs is excluding him, why is Foden in?
Southgate should come clean and say I’m sticking with my favourites irrespective of form or fitness

Yeah, heard that too. would be a shame. I'm happy for him to have favourites; you need a settled team - but they should not be undroppable when their form is so Pony.

That's the only reason I've included Maguire and Sterling. Both have rarely let down England, irrespective of their club form - and are now experienced heads. they are a fallback position, and should not start.

I honestly don't know who 'J Ramsey' is! - I'll have to google him.

Despite starting the thread, I do echo the sentiments of most on this thread. The whole thing is a bloody disgrace and disrupts us from our Palace watching.

I'm not into England at the best of times but trying to drum up some interest.

Jacob Ramsey, and yeah bit of a curveball from Leftfield. probably classify him as a box to box midfielder. Played well this year for Villa. young, would offer energy, ideas and cover for the midfield.
Included as I literally couldn't think of a better alternative. And I don't want Eze to go to sit on the bench.

So, neither Mitchell nor Guehi in and they can concentrate on being ready for the post-Christmas rush.

Too many players picked on (past) reputation, rather than form.

Mitchell was never going based on current form, but Maguire and Coady have nothing to offer over Guehi.

I don't see the logic of picking Philips who hasn't played a full game for a year; he will be massively lacking in match fitness.

Pleased to see Gallagher make the squad (on last's year's form), but gutted for Eze. He can drift passed people in a way the fat brummie can only dream of.

England will squeeze through what is an easy group, then get dumped out as soon as they face any team of note.

At least Palace will have some well-rested players for 2nd half of the season.

I don't understand the Gallagher pick. He hasn't been in recent squads and isn't doing a lot at club level. Probably only been taken to cover Phillips. He's fortunate. Phillips is mind-boggling.

I can't see us progressing far with that defensive group. Trippier's the only one there who looks on it at the minute.

Taking neither Guehi or Tomori looks short sighted in terms of future tournaments. White is the only centre back under the age of 28 going, and he's played RB all season.

Based on that squad, I couldn't be happier to be playing Chelsea, Spurs, United and Newcastle in the month after the restart. Hopefully we go deep if only to knacker them out.
