My original post slagged off our medical team for getting duped again by a lame player. Rather like with Nathan Ferguson…. but I deleted the post as it seemed a bit harsh.

Having said that, I remember a stream of us on here very concerned about his injury record in Germany and pleading with our medical team to proceed with extreme caution.

Not sure if this makes things any clearer.

Oct 14: 'He has started doing some work on the field, but he is still a couple of weeks short.'

As for Ferguson.

Oct 14: 'We didn’t do very much [on Friday], but he did a full session. It was too short for him to be involved. From next week, he will do the full session with the team.'

Think that's fair enough sir, even the original post referenced might well have been of value bar any 'limit pushing' language!

I think our eye for catching young talent on the relative cheap has perhaps brought with it this hazard. The obvious question for me would be 'If x is so great, at <25 years old, why would they only cost a few mil in today's market?'.

It may be a case that we carry on getting Olises, Guehis et al, however we may also pick up the odd Ferguson (I have a feeling he has cemented a special place in the 'crocked player' Hall of Fame) and Richards may now be the latest example.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Last season in Germany he was out injured for 130 days.
The season before he was out injured for about 90 days.
A fee of £8.5 Mill rising to £11 Mill is a relative pittance in PL terms.

Is Cliff's injury now the same as last year?

On Ferguson, playing U21 games. Perhaps ready for new year?

CR's injury is hamstring and he's currently only doing individual work so not training with the team yet.

As for Ferguson, I wonder if he'll make the bench for the Newcastle cup game mid=week?
