BBC website has switched to a black logo. I do believe London Bridge has fallen. Sadly I believe the beginning of the end for the British monarchy. Edited by Ouzo Dan (08 Sep 2022 3.53pm)

Fair enough. But hats off to her for all of her achievements. Record breaking in more ways than one. She will be a very difficult act to follow. Absolutely she has served this country something the politicians might take note of . God bless her I hope she pulls through.

All news channels are talking in very sombre terms about Her Majesty's health. She is under medical supervision at Balmoral and the entire family, including Harry, are there or on their way to be at her side. Even us oldies have known no other head of state and the prospect of that consistent symbol of leadership being no more is hard to grapple with. Thoughts are with the Queen and her family. Not true her dad did the job and his death was announced while I was at secondry school.....bloody kids on here!

Not well, notes passed round parliament- family heading to Balmoral- we wish her well! I often don't agree with you and I'm no particular royalist, but well said, mate.

there is a longstanding precedent of other top Royalty dying and the story being suppressed for many hours or even days. Think of the Tudors, there was always a fear of Civil unrest between different factions. Wills & Harry are not the first to have a bunfight. Edited by PalazioVecchio (08 Sep 2022 6.20pm)

The media storm around it isn't because she had an upset stomach after a dodgy tasting KFC. The only monarch I've ever known, and regardless of my feelings towards the monarchy, which are barely existent as it is, she did seem to me at least a very loveable, admirable and decent person who to some extent had a life that was barely her own. Whatever the news, as it creeps out, my thoughts are with her.
