Wow, because we haven’t paid over inflated prices, we have signed 3 players this summer and will have Eze fit this season. Better place than last year.

Sorry have to disagree. We are significantly weaker than last year. Only 2 strikers (neither prolific), a far weaker midfield as not only is there no Gallagher replacement, Luka and McArthur are both another year older and bit part players at best. We have signed 4 players, only 1 of whom is likely to start. Richards is an unknown quantity, Johnstone will be a deputy like Butland and Ebiowei will get a few subs appearances.

Yeah your opinion but as a fan of palace why would you say we deserve to struggle. That’s such an odd thing to say. People have been praising Dougie and SP for signing Eze and olise, Andersen, Guehi, we’ve had a disappointing window but we are a small club that can’t afford to spunk money on over hyped players.
I’m a bit disappointed we couldn’t resign Gallagher but Chelsea kept him. It is what it is, we are a lower mid table established premier league team and I like the way we are going.
If you expect big money signings then your supporting the wrong team. PV will have to work with what he has which I think is as good if not better than last season

1) We didn't lose anyone we didn't choose to let go.

2) Doucoure looks a very good acquisition.

3) Ebiowei showed some spark when he came on as sub against Arsenal but, unfortunately, plays in a position where we are strong.

4) The jury's out on Richards.

5) Yes, I'm clutching at straws.

6) We look weak in central midfield and still don't have anyone who looks like scoring regularly apart from Wilf.

7) If we fans can see where the team needs strengthening I'm pretty sure Parish and Freedman can too. But they chose not to.

It's easy to spend money when it isn't yours. As fans none of us knows how much is or isn't available and, fortunately, we don't have the backing of any Saudi murderers.

9) Do any of us know whether, for instance, Phillips is ready to make the step up? I doubt it but maybe the hierarchy think he (or another youngster) is.

10) Some serious activity will be needed next summer when Wilf goes, as I assume he will. Maybe we were holding funds back to have a kitty then?

11) Rak Sakyi seems to be doing well at Charlton, maybe he will come back and step up?

12) There you go, I've run out of straws to grab.

Some of you speak as if Dougie and Parish haven't been working around the clock for the last week trying to bring players in. Of course they have...but it's got to be the right player for the right price. These guys have delivered over the last few years...with Eze, Guehi, Andersen, Olise and Doucoure etc looking top top players. Anyone slagging Parish off needs their head checked. Sure, a couple of extra players would've been good. But it doesn't always work out.

This group is good enough to get us a mid-table finish this season. That'll have to do for now - then we push on again next year.

Harris & Blitzer out. They're a couple of parasites with zero interest in our club, other than trying to wring a little cash out of it.

Every match, we listen to the biased hatred and loathing of Palace in the voices of the commentators. This is why. The owners love money more than English football. What a disgrace and disgusting attitude the owners have towards the best supporters in England and a great manager in PV? This STINKS. They couldn’t even be bothered to drop a hint that there would probably be no changes. Just let everybody speculate for weeks whilst our rivals march on to the top six and Europe. Thanks Parish.

we are not in the lower half of the table and we are an exciting team to watch....

Ross Barkley ?

Only if you want extra competition for your beloved Eze. Barkley aint going to do the box to box or defensive job we need.

if you take it as we are going to play a midfield three, obviously with what we have Eze and Doucoure are starters, which leaves schlupp, Luka, Hughes, Jairo, McArthur and possibly Phillips for one position, so which of them is best to compliment the other two, on paper its the Luka of old, but he seems to have disappeared.

I am sure that the transfer team tried hard but sadly we have been left weakened by our lack of activity.
I hope that teams like Forest get relegated because I dislike their kind of activity but other rivals appear - on the face of it - to have bought wisely and have strengthened whilst we have stood still.
Without doubt we needed a new midfielder and maybe a forward - the rest is fine.
The other point is that the team sometimes needs a bit of a boost with a new arrival.
I firmly believe that we put too many eggs in the Gallagher basket only to be foiled at the last minute.
I also believe - and said so weeks ago - that Gilmour would have been a good fit for us but instead he has gone to Brighton.
Time will tell whether that will work but I suspect he is an astute purchase for them.
Our main midfield central pairing of Eze and Schlupp in front of Duocoure (who is brilliant by the way) - is not equipped to deal with this League game after game and so, unless Jmac is due back soon and fighting fit for the season then we will be very weak all the way to January.
I hope to be proved wrong and eat much humble pie of course!

The paucity of quality beyond the first 11 is evident and we are significantly weaker than last season. Pretty much evidenced by Vieira's decision to go all defensive off the bench against Brentford. As Hodgson demonstrated, it's easier to stick everyone behind the ball and hope for the best.
Woe betide us if either centre half or Doucoure picks up an injury.
Add Wilf leaving at the end of the season and things don't look so great.
