Thanks for the list below - honestly , especially when it comes to strikers usually the lists are depressingly short & people wanting absolutely silly money / way out of the depth of clubs not being funded by countries / multi billionaires.

Mattteo so much more detailed than me and always shows his ideas more. Imo people like him are what makes this forum good. Great to read through and comment back.

Its what we need but if we will get it or not is another question.

But I'd question whether its what we need. Or what anyone needs for that matter.

The goal poacher doesn't really exist, especially in the PL as the style of play and formations have changed. Teams don't play 442 with a goal poacher playing off a big man.

Instead we now need our CF to be athletic and able to do a lot more than score.

I'm being pedantic for a reason. We need to judge our front line on the goals they score, but also those that they assist and their general play, hold up, pressing etc.

Dwight Gayle is the closest we've had to a goal poacher since Clinton, and he couldnt hack it in the prem, but scored bucket loads in the championship.

I’m not convinced that a goal poacher is what we need either. We have two centre forwards who are capable of doing the job, IF they were to get the service.
It’s just not the way we play. We have three creative players in Zaha Eze and Olise and they all prefer to cut in and shoot rather than get behind the defence and fire in high and low crosses.
We’d need to chance our style to get the best out of an out and out poacher.

This is what I have been saying for past few seasons.
Simply, to score goals we need a provider - a Barry Bannon type who we scandously let go and which we have regretted ever since.

Is that the one that can't make the match day squad at some crappy Belgium club?

Thats him .
Took one of the most highly rated young strikers out of the championship and farmed him out on Textors orders . A Yank dictating who plays where was never going to end well . Would have gained more experiance playing for our junior side .
As it is he may have lost the expected development in his game and go down hill .
If he's not playing get him back and fire him up in the U23's

Danny Ings is available. Don’t know what Villa are asking.

A very different kind of player to any others on our books.

And a proven goal scorer.

Fitness record of late isn’t so good however.

We always seem to have room for one more good, committed sick-note player...

I may be wrong but I think Roy wanted Ings at some point.
The striker I suggested a few seasons ago was Mitrovic. When Fulham were relegated and Parker was not selecting him, we should have got him. I know our old friend, Mattteo disagreed and called him fat, but he is just what we need, unfortunately tgat ship has long passed
