Wilf has improved his end product under Vieira and if he keeps up this current form he could be set for his best season ever. I saw a stat that only Son and Kane have scored more goals than him in the PL in 2022. In a world in which Chelsea are apparently bidding 60m for Gordon it does seem mad that no one has at least tested the water. Earlier in the window I had said that if a decent offer came in and he really wanted to leave we should let him, despite how important he is to us, but with 6 days until the window shuts that ship has sailed. We don't have a readymade replacement and there isn't enough time to find one. Unless someone offers something silly I think we can probably put this one to bed again.

Was on MoTD TL although you may have seen it elsewhere.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Ha. That probably is where I saw it. Living abroad I only ever watch it when we play well (hoping for some praise like a proud parent).

it's likely that a few have tested the water but it was done behind closed doors. The media isn't privy to every transfer conversation in football, just the ones they get wind of

Once the window closes Parish needs to offer him a new 4 year deal. He should also offer to name the new stand after him and put up a statue of him right outside where the opposition arrive.

Wilf doesn't want to sign a new contract. He will run his existing one down. Not saying he won't stay, but no decision will be made before next summer.

Not surprised this has come up again, especially as Arsenal seem to be trying to offload Pepe, who they'd bought at enormous expence in preference to Wilf.

If given the chance I think he'd go there like a shot. (I base this on nothing substantial whatsoever).

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Well he is an Arsenal fan, wanted to go there a few years ago, they are in Europe and he will be paid more money!

No he hasn't

While stats wise he is scoring more goals so what a fair amount are pens and he is suppose to be creating but he loses the ball 90% of the time.

His finishing has not gotten better clear evidence of that Liverpool game and another pen miss.

Good player but not a top player and im not getting in to his over paying of wages.

He is a glory hunter he wants it for himself.

None of the clubs listed will be interested in paying money for him on a free different story but the guy will be 30 this year.

Gordan is young and English with England u international prices are always inflated for that also he is very young (Chelsea go for these types to inflate the market so they can control it)

We can all guess and speculate about Zaha….

I speculate he will wait and see what options are presented to him during the last few days of the transfer window. If nothing concrete is offered, I think he may well look to extend his contract with us…..or as others have mentioned….leave as a free agent next summer.

He does seem very happy at the club, in the team, and it’s exciting times at the Palace.

Your opinion, of course.
The statistical data that all the stats nerds use these days show that over the last year, Zaha has both exceeded his expected goals (excluding penalties) and his shot to goal conversion rate and conclude he is more clinical than in the past. I'm not going to disagree with the boffins.

Not that I've read the stats, but they're usually our best barometer for measuring this sort of thing. To me his finishing has clearly improved quite dramatically. His finishes against both Liverpool and Villa in particular were superb. He missed a pen, so what, solid strike on target and more of a good save then it was a bad pen.

To be selected as penalty taker must mean he's the best finisher at the club in the opinion of the management team? The fact that only Son and Kane have scored more in this calendar year is sensational given he plays for a mid table team.

His role has changed in the team over the past 18 months as he has lost a yard of pace and is gradually being morphed into a striker/scorer and less of a creator.

Anyway, he seems quite content at the moment and is playing some of his best football. Long may it continue. I would be surprised if he did sign a new contract though.
