Where did you hear that? I'd like to listen to the relevant article, assuming it's available on the internet. Just the radio station and which 'show' it was on will be fine, thanks.

Nick Ferrari today- between 9 and 10, or, James O Brien after 10 till about 10.15, LBC, the lady caller was from an energy company and was saying they have lots of people changing both gas and electric meters to by pass the mains- you"re welcome.

Maybe taking VAT off servicing a boiler may be a start

Take 25 quid off a service once a year. I doubt that will solve the problem tbh.

I would anticipate some trying to bypass meters or try to steal power from others in the light of the current crisis as prices rise.

I remember in my student days this happened a fair bit in squats where if you knew the right person you could hitch up to a power source or bypass a shut off Meyer. Still get it now with the illegal cannabis farms. I recall one near my Mum's old house near the Pond where they had bypassed the meter to provide the power to grow their crops.

All highly illegal and highly dangerous.

But whatever. This event is a tragedy with a child losing their life. So sad.

Perhaps don't speculate as to potential criminal behaviour, this may just be a tragic accident.

To be fair I reckon the investigators may well look to it as a probably first option of why, so talking it on here is no different really.

Thats one of the reasons that these type of explosions so often happen early in the morning, gas leak builds up overnight, occupant comes down early in the morning, puts the light on or a kettle on to make the tea that small spark causes the ignition.

Like what Roy Hodgson did.
