Must admit, I'm a tad nervous about the privacy aspect of these things. I have an old fashioned burglar alarm fitted here at geezer's gaff, but it's started to play up and I've started to think I should upgrade. Next door have a Nest set-up which they think is a good system. A bit spooky though if ever I pop round, they open the door before I've even rung the bell.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I've got a Ring doorbell. Its very effective, does all that is required of it. The downside is that Mrs Neillo was able to track my comings and goings while she was in Australia for 2 weeks

Just got a ring doorbell and love it. No delay and as above you can see it live. For example I can see today that the birds mum is round mine so I know not to finish work early. It's brilliant Not a MILF then. Oh well at least you know what your mrs will look like in 30 years

most burglars go into a house via a back window or door left unlocked ( don't ask me how I know ] so a front door bell/camera is not a lot of good

Lucky man, they may swap and you will never know. Experience over soft skin. It’s a difficult one

I have a ring video doorbell which seems to work well - also you can go to live feed on it so if its one of those charity collectors looking to sign you up for a monthly donation or a door knocker looking to sell you something (we get loads around here) I also have 2 big Macedonian Shepherds, lol Presumably they are better than dogs for security? Did they need work permits?

Main takeaway... Don't bother with battery operated ones, they're dross. Have a Nest wired paired with their CCTV camera and they're excellent. You do need to purchase a monthly subscription to get the best out of it, but if it's in your budget range it's worth considering. Personally don't like the bulky look of the ring devices and knowing someone who has one it just doesn't seem as good in quite a few areas inc. software.
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

We have an Eufy video door bell with an internal base station no monthly subscription easy to add extra cameras and devices. You can have it battery operated (3 months life charging takes a few hours) or hard wired. You can change the zone detection area. Good value for what we need
