Well said. The trouble is too may people don't want to hear or believe the climate message.They reference past heatwaves to supposedly show hot weather is nothing new, or in winter, when you get a cold spell, to glibly say "well, where's global warming now?

Individual weather events are not in themselves an indicator of climate change, but an on-going changing pattern of events, and an increasing frequency of them, is.

On a slightly more serious note, we have some local and National Agriculture shows over the next few weeks that are all going to be impacted. The biggest problem is the movement of livestock in suitably ventilated trailers that aren't going to act like ovens, particularly on longer trips.
Agriculture also has it's own irrigation and harvesting problems pending

My firm is actually having air conditioning fitted at the moment, they started last week and probably won’t be finished till the end of the week. It’s like a massive hot green house at the best of times, (it’s a car showroom) without this intense heat. Thankfully I’m out on the road a lot of the time and I’m off today and tomorrow.

The irony of air conditioning fitters doing short days and not getting the job finished because of the heat in our place hasn’t escaped us as well

In short, yes... It's not about believing your opinion or my opinion - it's about believing the work of thousands of experts in climate science analysing data over the course of decades.

Mike on Facebook who says he doesn't believe it all because of '76 and because he likes sitting in the garden with a Stella and his shirt off doesn't compete.

I'd be happy to reconsider my views if I was presented with scientific evidence, but a failure to "believe" it will be catastrophic for our kids and grandkids.

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to pop in the garden now on my lunch break and enjoy the sun but it's a truly worrying time...
