Can someone confirm or deny that on our list of retained academy graduates there's a player with this surname. His first name appears to be Adler. Any relation? No relation, we signed our academy player from Peterborough, he played one first team game for them

Edson Arantes do Nascimiento didn't do too bad
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

There might be something in the name. Our Adler (2g3a) is looking very promising on the U18s. Also, as an aside and with a rather signficant element of concern from BF supporters, during this year's midseason transfer window in Brazil, Textor loaned his then top scorer (7g in Brasileiro SerieA) on Botafogo, striker Erison to Estoril (currently one point off Europe) in Portugal. Estoril, owned by Globalon Football Holdings S.L. is Blitzer. Work permit point accretion scheme this? Telegraph now has reported Boehly interest in Portugal as well (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/09/14/chelsea-eye-portuguese-club-takeover-todd-boehly-talks-jorge/). People are starting to realise that a massive still untapped potential exists in Brazil. 2 years in football and on contract with BF until November 2023 and a £50m release clause, 17yo Kaue has now been elevated onto their first team from the U20s after 7g in 30 for BF's U20s so far this year. He is Brazil's CDM of the future (Brasil U16s and 17s so far)....The next one to keep an eye on. He will need old world polishing at the PV finishing school as well. To say that the Alvinegro are smitten with PV is a massive understatement as from the members of the board to a denizen of the Botafogo neighbourhood, you shall hear that his style and teachings is the proper footballing way and that any direct tutelage, if properly managed, via loan is a massive win for their player development. Not only is the recognition of PVs capability local, but from far afield as well. Travel tip: Remember the birds are on Ipanema's beach, but don your '77 kit (formalware, obviously) and head south from Rio proper to BF/Copacabana/Ipanema and you shall eat, drink, and 'play' with true Rio hospitality. You will be stopped numerous times, guaranteed.

Now Official. 3 year undisclosed year over year escalating salary. Real Madrid chopped at the knees. Ostensibly, he could be available for an outbound loan spell at Botafogo's season end which is just prior to our winter window. I have heard/seen that he is rather 'interested' in London. I think Dougie had a positive influence on the lad during negotioations alongside Textor. Textor's had a busy couple weeks - Tried to buy about a 1/4 of Sporting CP (debt purchase off Sportings creditor banks, convert to shares down the line). Failed due to .....rolling dice

Sorry I have missed the point of the last few posts. I appreciate its a lot of work to translate but a hint would be nice. Are you saying this lad is coming to us in January on loan?

This is relatively accurate Badger: The error in the article is that their really is no contract between Nascimento and BF directly. It is confusing and often glossed over by media reporting. This is Brazil, not Europe. The contract is between MN and his ownership group, which is comprised of Botafogo football club (60%), MN's youth club (10%), and Matheus himself (30%). The ownership group "leases" MN to Botafogo. Always a speedhump in these sorts of scenarios. Registration and ownership? Doesn't the premier league forbid participation of privately owned players? I would have lots of questions. Let alone, work permit? But, if the obstacles dealt with, yes he could be here, keeping in mind that Dougie has been involved with these negotiations since the beginning. Edited by theorist (23 Oct 2022 2.12pm)

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |
