Gatwick North is bad. The queues to buy any food where you sit down are too long and there’s just too many people in general. Although there is a sit at the bar place just to the left as soon as you walk in that I don’t think had queues. What about paying for a lounge and loading up on food and drink there? I would not recommend it. Normally costs £30-40 for a private (not airline) lounge and they are now as crowded as the terminal.

I was about to bring up some of your points badger, because of massive long queues at airports and delays most of the food outlets in the airport are rammed with passengers or very low on stock, 3 weeks ago at Birmingham They had sold out of sandwiches and with it being summer and very warm you can't refrigerate and keep sandwiches cold to bring from home especially if you got a long car journey to the airport. A small cold bag would surely sort that one - then leave it in the car when you arrive at the airport.

I agree with your sentiments completely YT, but on the subject of airline food, one of my favourites was on an Air India flight to New York. Flew 1st Class (on AI that's probably equivalent to Club) because my boss at the time saw the cost was less than BA economy. Anyway, their service was excellent and they served two meals of very fine curry. Other than that I used to enjoy a 'cooked' BA breakfast on one of the many early morning flights I took to Glasgow. Barely finished before they started the descent.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

We were served some chicken and rice and the cabin crew worked with some alacrity both serving and collecting the dishes.Jolly well done to them and the service was with a smile. The flight was operated by Bangkok Airways. Ah I remember the AirUK breakfast on my weekly Glasgow flights, once I turned it down and the stewardess thought I was ill. i would also recommend but many years ago Air Lanka's curries.

Yes willo I have done that very same flight, with Bangkok Airways On the first occasion I visited Koh Samui, several years ago, the aircrafts had propellers, on my last visit the outbound and inbound flight was on an A319 Airbus. Koh Samui airport, buildings with thatched roofs and the mode of transport from aircraft to terminal resembles a tram that is used to show tourists the delights of a city !
