The SNP favour a significant population increase quite how the locals will feel if this happens remains to be seen. However the issue is that the UK will not allow Scotland to become a back door for immigrants flying into Scotland and then jumping on a train to London. How then does the UK stop that? A hard border? We also have the problem of Scots moving freely from the Auld country to work in the UK, why should they get preference over others? I can see an EU residency style registration process in the UK after which the Scots will be on a par with the rest of the world. I can see many Scots giving it the braveheart in the pub whilst hanging onto to their UK passport to get round this.

I would gladly see the dissolution of the act of union as constitutionally it would undo all of the unjust laws and statutes that have been put in place under the likes of Blair and Cameron. All would be null and void. Wouldn't like to lose the Scots though as I see them as our brothers.

Well if the SNP walk away without paying their fair share of the bill good luck to them getting finance in the international money markets, nobody likes a welcher.

Referendums are bitter divisive and have long-lasting consequences eg Brexit, Scots will not be looking forward to this. A vote cast for the SNP at an election should be a vote for independence it is the people's choice. Definitely not the Supreme Court, the tory geriatrica. Some of their decisions are even worse than the USA model. To continue inflicting policies from Westminster that are clearly not in the interests and not wanted by the other countries is rather like the end of empire. And frankly, with Johnsons desperate administration, it's good riddance.

Russia got away with it after the revolution. In exchange for large tracts of land and resources. Ireland would be the go to example really. Incredibly poor until perhaps the 90s. So about 70-80 years after independence. Modern times are quicker of course. I'd give Scotland maybe 50 years before it can stand on its own two feet.

Presumably you are stating what you would like to be the case, because the actual case is completely the opposite. Constitutional matters affecting the UK are solely the remit of the UK parliament. And before you start having a go, I'm completely ambivalent regarding Scottish independence.
