European Badges,..Hmmmmm

Possibly a move to a top club like Ajax would be a good test.
Would Rooney be able to resist the dark alleys and fluorescent windows of the red light district after an evening game ?

I read last week, that he is going to study for the UEFA 'C' license so he can manage in Europe's top leagues.

I've always regarded him as a "C". No licence required.

Such a 'C' that he stumped up 1.5M of his own money to pay off a months worth of wages for the players.

So what? That's about one per cent of him and his missus's net worth, and much of that came from his employer paying him for his 'image rights' rather than as an employee subject to PAYE. Lineker is worth far less and has given large amounts to charity/to help resurrect Leicester City back in the day etc, etc, but that doesn't stop him being a "C".

So he didn't have to do it then did he? & what the f*** has Lineker got to do with the price of anything.
Someones ability to be charitable has little to do 'worth' as you glibly put it.
Lineker is Leicester born & bred & I believe his parents ran a business there. Rooney as far as I know has no ties to Derby outside of his managerial stint so actually has less reason to stick his hand in his pocket

Some players go into management and then realise just how hard it is and lose interest.

Rooney has had a baptism of fire and has come through it with his reputation intact. He has a career in football management if he wants it.

Gone up in my estimation as well. It wasn't difficult mind you! But he did do a very difficult job with Derby.
Doing his Uefa 'C' badge would be a very sensible idea for WR.

Surely that's not the operative verb ? When it's all only a contractual transactional arrangement ?

Maybe he was a grannie hirer ?

I also wasn't sure whether to use a hyphen, one word or two for bell end, and is Granny a y but Grannie-shagger hyphenated. So many questions.
