Not a chance he is a big game player and not what we need to grind out a midweek result against a mid table team. For me we could do with looking at that Wales keeper he played a blinder!

Yes, you just couldn't see Bale doing it on a cold wet Weds in the middle of winter at Stoke. Yes I know they are not in the Prem but you get my drift.

Please keep him away from our club. His major asset, which was pace, has gone and he looked pretty unfit against Ukraine. Not a Palace type player in my opinion even for a short cameo.

It's quite scary how many people are a hypothetical 'no' to this... not that it has any chance of happening. He'd be the most decorated player to ever play for us - he turned out 11 goals in 20 prem games for Spurs last season, and never looked like he got out of second gear. An absolute no brainer if there was any possibility of it happening.

he only cares about playing for Wales. I don't know if he'd care that much about playing for another club team. Would he be able to get his appetite for it back? If he had no motivation to leave RM in what should have been the best years of his career, when why would be be bothered to get out of bed to play for Palace? Certainly not for the money. Too much of a gamble IMO, unless he has some sort of burning desire to play for Palace.

I'd take him on the condition he pays us, not sure what the going rate is but can't imagine it being cheap having a premier league club keep you match fit so you can go to a world cup

If you look into things you will find that Bale has been used as a bit of a scapegoat at Madrid. Initially by the Spanish press and then due to this the Madrid fans. Bale did not help himself however, being a bit of a quiet Welsh boy he never tried to `connect` to the Spanish fans or culture etc which exasperated the situation. (This is an interesting read: [Link] However, I do not want him at Palace. It's twofold. Financially it will cost us. He won't be going to a new club on £600,000 week wages, and he knows that himself. But, it will still be `some` wages coming out of our budget. The other consideration that makes it a no from me is if he were in the team it is taking either the place of either Olise or Zaha. Two players who don't need replacing or he is sitting on the bench. Either way it is blocking the progress of someone else. I think the best thing for him is the move to Cardiff. I think he will do it and take a considerable pay cut to do it but he can play regularly and be more `at home` in his home city of Cardiff, play regularly to build up for the world cup and go some way to repairing his reputation. That's a very good point, haven't heard that mentioned elsewhere. Who else? Walcott, Ox-C, Shaw and so forth?
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
