My understanding is that there is a massive pissing contest going on at the moment within Britain's health establishment about the future direction of research. A significant majority of Scientists want the future focus to be on conditions such as cancer and diabetes and making use of facilities that were constructed by way of the fight against Covid, whereas the more career types, backed by politicians, want to focus on the risk of future nfectious diseases. With this Moneky Pox stuff being essentially blown out of all proportion by way of trying to swing budgets and so on.

You always seem on the inside track with understanding the latest worrying trend

However ‘this Moneky Pox stuff’ can be managed with Smallpox vaccines and isn’t life threatening so I don’t think it makes a great conspiracy.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I fully agree. But there is a lot of political capital now invested in the 'threat' of communicable diseases which a lot of scientists do not see as that much of a major problem. Yes Covid was a novel virus and we are all living with the consequences but in terms of how and who it killed, then nothing that much out of the ordinary, acting as viruses are meant in terms of their evolutionary purpose. Now the 'Spanish' flu, that was a whole different ball game altogether but Covid 19, whilst nasty, was never seen as a major threat.
