We should thank him for his contribution, and sell. Edouard should take his place on the left, with Mateta and Olise, as he gels better with the rest of the front line, and will I think score as many goals.

Amid all the excitement of the final day it felt a bit of a subplot that Zaha now has one year left on his contract and that might be the last we see of him in a Palace shirt. I can't believe we'll let him go for free next year and he would still command a decent fee after scoring 14 league goals. However, naturally the club will want him to stay and, should he decide to sign a new deal, he'll probably finish his career at the club. So, do you think we'll see him in a Palace shirt next season? If i was Wilf i'd sit on my hands for 1 more year. No point us selling him unless we get a stupid offer due to the Man U % and i think he'd struggle to get more money or as much playing time & freedom anywhere else. In 12 months maybe he will have more options. Those options include a new deal at Palace BTW.

Edouard has done close to nothing. Zaha is the most talented player we have ever had. I'd keep Wilf until he needs a walking stick if he wants to stay.

I think he will definitely have suitors. Despite his age and just having a year left on his contract we could probably get somewhere in the region of £15-20m for him which is a snip really given how good he is. In the Premier League I think Newcastle and Arsenal will be interested, he would surely be tempted by both for different reasons. Also I wouldn't count out a move abroad, could see an Italian or Spanish club coming in for him. It's funny because I am nowhere near as concerned about him leaving as I was a few years ago. Not only because we have better attacking players now but also because his efforts to leave the club in multiple windows pissed me off. However, he's probably our best ever player and you'd have to say that if there is any chance of getting him to sign a new deal, it's a no brainer.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

I would not sell Wilf, you have to look at his goal contribution this year to see what a difference he makes. He has still re-iterated his desire to leave, as he probably wants to play European football before it's too late. I can't see any of the top 4 wanting him, so champions league would be out unless it's a club from abroad. For the Europa League, can't see Man Utd wanting him back, so the only place might be Arsenal. Palace has said they would be open to offers, but I think it foolish to let him go unless a fabulous offer comes in.

There's perpertually talk of him leaving - so inevitably he'll stay.

I totally agree. Ok, by his own admission he doesn't try to dribble past players as much now but he has changed that to instead be more direct and get in more dangerous areas. And this shows in how many goals he has in past 2 seasons.

I think he's more settled now that we have a decent team around him and we're moving in the right direction. He's missed his chance to play in the CL with an English club and he doesn't strike me as a character who'd want to play in one of the lesser European leagues. His homesickness has been well documented in the past. If he was to leave Palace and stay in England it would be a sideways move. He knows he's loved at Palace and pretty unpopular everywhere else. Just can't see it happening. My guess is that he'll sign a 2 year extension.
