I agree with Eaglecoops on this.

My reaction to the news was the same, I don't really give a flying doodah if a player is gay, heterosexual, bi-sexual, transgender, non-binary, intersex, bi-gender, cisgender, gender apathetic, intergender, multi gender, omnigender, trigender or not.

Me either and if he/she/they play for Palace he/she/they can add Goalaphile.

I hear Brighton have put in a transfer bid.

I have no issue with this. What I will have issue with is if those ‘in charge’ move on from this in their next quest to start turning football or its advertising into something like the latest airline tv advert and a chance to promote and encourage not only homosexuality but also transsexuals to teenagers. I can see it happening. The people in charge are feckin mad.

The guy is brave, but I reckon it won’t be bad for him in most places and there’ll be a few others quite soon.

Something this fella didn't feel like doing. For the record good luck to the Blackpool player, but is this really 'Earth shattering news' in 2022?

It's all the rage these days to come out! Chatting to a teacher not long ago and kids in her class keep "comming out"

That's brave of you as I got crucified by many of the virtue signalling HOL members a few months ago for making a similar comment about the England women's cricket team

Good luck to the lad but I hope Blackpool protect him from the media.

He is a 17yo lad I hope that the likes of Stonewall etc don't decide to use him as a poster boy for gay rights. It's not fair on one so young to expect them to answer questions that the FIFA / UEFA / PFA / FA / PL regularly duct.

For example:

If you were in the England team would you go to the World Cup in Qatar?

Will you play against Russia even though Putin has an anti gay agenda ?

I just hope that he is left alone to play his football.

All the stick he’s getting on twitter, and where nearly any of it will mostly come from I reckon, is from people from that loving and peaceful religion - Islam. Always gets the progressives uncomfortable.

The online abuse this man will get from Africa and Asia will be blamed on us mindless football fans.

If anyone is really offended by my comment then the problem is with them. And to be compared to Racist Muslims on Twitter is laughable.

I find all this rather cynical. What has his sexuality got to do with playing football, the worlds moved on from Justin Fashanu, kind of feel this is an attempt to boost his profile to get a big move or find a role in the media as a poster boy.Does anyone know of his ability?

Normally I am cynical and would agree however in this case I think he's actually being brave. He is opening a can of worms and he is still a boy according to the law.

As I posted earlier I fear that he will become a tool (no pun intended) for various groups / people with an agenda.

The best thing that can happen to this lad is for a bigger more higher profile player e.g. PL to come out to take the pressure off him.

My guess is that the more high profile players will sit back and see what happens for now before they make a move.
