it's right about the BA food though, complimentary crisps or breakfast bar. prebought food/meals only.

Flying from Dublin can be hours. Schiphol airport a nightmare currently - both ways. Another to avoid, Copenhagen - maybe one or two customs lines for the whole airport. Schiphol, flash strikes. Dublin, no staff. Copenhagen because they can.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Wife went to Turkey couple weeks ago - Gatwick South ( quite unusual apparently because that one usually goes from the North terminal) she arrived 3 hours b4 the flight , massive queues almost out the terminal door, someone from Turkish airlines was offering upgrade to business class for £100.00 so she stuck her hand up & walked str8 to the front of the queue - Also - this £5.00 for terminal drop off is a complete rip off, especially if you dont realise & forget to pay online. ( Just my opinion)

The reason airports are struggling to recruit is, they decided to lay people off rather than furlough them Thise staff have realised that the working conditions and rotas are not worth the money they are paid. Security staff have ridiculous shift patterns. The airports on,y have themselves to blame I’m afraid. Not CS fault Edited by Spiderman (15 May 2022 7.27am) Edited by Spiderman (15 May 2022 7.28am)

I'm back from Transylvania, Romania is not what I expected don't think gothic more like Sound of Music. very pretty very German / Swiss alpine countryside, if you enjoy walking / hiking definitely go for it. Back on point. A week before we left BA cancelled our flights so we had to switch to the Romanian national carrier. After the disaster with BA the previous month I wasn't sure what to expect at Heathrow. We flew Terminal 2 (no BA flights that I could see). It was fine no delays at check in (there and back) and the terminal was not heaving. Tarom is a basic no frills state airline but these days all I care about is getting to my destination on time and they did. I think Terminal 5 maybe more the issue as BA is the main carrier there and it was heaving with thousands last night. I am due to go to Croatia next month already booked with BA. I am hoping to switch to another airline if my travel agent can swing it. BA do not deserve our business so until they can their act together they will be my airlines of last resort.

Thanks for the update Badger. Will be flying in and out of Terminal 2 so good to know it was easy. I personally stopped using BA about 20 years ago. It used to be that they were more expensive but the service was always worth the little extra. However, they had strikes over pay by the in-flight attendants around that time (despite being one of the top payers, if I remember correctly). Afterwards, the service offered seemed to drop right off and wasn't worth the extra.

They are damaging their brand I hope that the public vote with their feet.

I stopped using them sometime ago when they stopped flying out of GTW for short-haul & i agree with ouzo, their service has gone from great to cr@p.

I used to use BA for family trips to the UK from Hong Kong because we booked premium economy and were very often bumped up to business, I asked why one time and they said because I had a Cathay Pacific Gold card it was a marketing ploy to try and get my business travel. Also they offered a free European flight so we would pay for HK-London-HK and get a free flight to Paris or Rome etc. I liked Terminal 5 , the lounge was great for the kids back in the day. These days we use Turkish, excellent service and flexible on changes Edited by HKOwen (17 May 2022 1.30pm)

BA seemed to be one of those companies that lost their identity - initially presenting itself as the branded option (worth the extra expense) & then (over time) lost the courage of their convictions & in attempts to retain market share against the various low cost options tried to become all things to all men & in doing so kind of lost the plot / fell between 2 stools - Once that happens its hard for a company to reinvent itself.
