wow - changing the 4-3-3 we've played all season is a bold choice.

For me the defence picks itself if all fit, if Olise not fit Ayew plays on the RHS. Then the big choice is Eze replacing Conor or another centre mid.

Eze would be a bold choice and one i hope PV makes.

I suspect it may be a more solid midfield though with perhaps Macca coming in.

All this ineligibility stuff has reminded me of the identical haircuts Romania sported in 1998.

I suggest we do the same thing, then Chelsea won't know who we've fielded... we might even be able to sneak Conor on as a sub!

I agree with you that it was an auful line up. This one looks alot better , maybe Hughes or Jimmy Mac for Eze though .

this thread should be merged with the one on 'who is our best midfield trio'. Kouyate will play, most likely Schlupp - it's hard to put Eze in with Schlupp as they bother play left midfield. So he either puts Hughes or Jimmy Mac in there. He might drop Olise into midfield but I doubt it - I think he'll play a defensive, safe midfield and try and catch Chelsea on the break. But I could see Olise as a right sided midfielder linking up and swapping with Ayew on the right wing - PV will need to come up with something unpredictable, but Chelsea fans will tell you they find it hard to break down sides who park the proverbial bus, so we might see a bit of Royball again.

Personally I would just swap Eze straight in for Gallagher. He is our best passer of the ball and if we have any chance of winning we need some creativity. If Olise is not fit enough to start then we definitely need to start Eze. Sclupp was probably our best player against Leicester, but McArthur works harder and is better on the ball. A tough call that one. The biggest decision could be who replaces Mitchell if he's injured. His reaction to being taken off suggests it isn't serious, but you never know. Personally I'd put Schlupp there as he's quick, left footed and good going forward. Ward just looks awkward out left and is too slow to be going forward.

Chelsea are inconsistent at the moment and have a huge game against Madrid midweek (which will hopefully go to extra time and penalties!) We need to come out like we did at Arsenal and Leicester did to us and just don't give them a second's peace.

Agree, but conversely it's the worst line up if we lose

I'm simply putting my trust in the manager to pick who he considers to be the eleven players who give us the best chance to win, backed up by a bench of subs who he can use with dramatic effect during the match.

Having said that, I really hope Olise is fit and that Eze starts!

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
