Nonsensical and pointless article.. Yet again a Newcastle fan just bleating on about how amazing their support is.. They're a one club city. If you are from Newcastle you support Newcastle that's how it is. We are one of 3 clubs in South London alone without taking North, West and East London into consideration. As for the away trip who cares??.. Newcastle on a Wednesday night on a coach would involve taking 2 days off work. We are not going down and they won't either. We can't make Europe and they can't either.. It's a nothing game and whether the author of that article likes it or not Newcastle are not considered a 'big club' to go and visit on a Wednesday night.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Was invited by a business suppiler to St James' for a Newcastle v Moan U match about 12 years ago. Never seen such a bad atmosphere, after Moan U scored the place was like a crypt. The only noise you could here was one one of my managers, a Palace fan, who was also invited standing up and going "let's be 'aving you : make some noise". The Geordie's just looked at her open mouthed....in silence. If she is on here she'll know my alias now. .

Not sure what sort of faire themag normally serves up, but I’d have given up a long time ago if that is the standard of writing. It’s hard not to feel aggrieved when your club is getting bashed by fans of another, so I get it. However, our comments stem from concerns about the integrity of the league. Not every club is going to be owned by a sovereign wealth fund, and without proper controls it will skew the league, alla Citeh. Maybe it is Newcastle’s turn to have a run with whatever money is spent, but it feels like The House of Saud going on the charm offensive, just like the Emirities, and Abramovich before. Trying to normalise themselves in a very expensive PR game. Why do they want to put this money into the club? It isn’t to make money, and it isn’t for the love of Newcastle. We could say that for our owners it isn’t for the love of Palace either. If I was kind I would say maybe it is for the love of the game. At least we can say that our owners don’t jail there critics or execute journalists who draw attention to their short comings. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, mine is that all vast personal wealth is pretty shady, wealth is power, and power corrupts. Some owners are more wealthy and corrupt than others. If that was a league they’re now top. I hope they enjoy it.

I would say that Parish et al bought Palace for the love of Parish....cant say that about Textor ofc. I understand why Geordies turn a blind eye to money source. We'd probably be the same and are fortunate not to be in that position. The PL/Gov needs to regulate better. I also understand why they got moody about the banner but I saw it as anti blood money not anti Geordie. Finally re away tickets. No club struggles to fill their allocation at Selhurst because, um, we're in London. Almost every diaspora in the world exists here and has at least 5000 members. Falklands FC could fill it if we met them in the cup.

They've used Palace and indeed HOL for their source material before: "Crystal Palace fans pleased with own team but can’t believe how bad Newcastle were – Interesting comments" --
On the plus side if you're looking to feature in a future article, I would assume that they're reading this thread so say something witty or controversial and you might feature

Does anyone seriously care what Newcastle fans think? If you think it's alright that Saudi Arabia own your team then you're really not someone with enough intelligence to pay any heed to.
