Maybe Wilf has been playing with more of a smile on his face recently because he’s been promised a move at the end of the season ? He’s been fantastic and carried the team for long periods so I’d say deserves a chance to see how he gets on at a top club while he is still young(ish). He’ll be missed but it’s not catastrophic like it woukd have been a couple of years back.

Newcastle? One article seen says they are prepared to sell St Maximim. Maybe both stories planted by same source? I'm confident he wouldn't move up North now, possible if its a London Club, but I actually think that he will renew his contract and stay until he retires.

I'm certainly under the impression atm that Zaha himself probably thinks his best days are, or soon will be, behind him. We may well see a Zaha who appreciated his bread is best buttered at Palace now and may look to stay, Only my humble opinion of course. You're probably right, but on Monday night Zaha showed that he still has the power to torment defenders and create something out of nothing. There just aren't many players like him when he's on song, despite his advancing years. It's just such a shame that in recent years his on the pitch theatrics have distracted us from that. Whatever the case I have every faith that Vieira will know what's best for the squad and the team.

I was going to post the link. That reporter always speaks c***. If there is one summer where I am confident Wilf will/wants to stay it is this one. He is enjoying the football, has curbed his temper and seems to love Vieira it's not just about what Wilf wants any more. It's what PV wants, and the economics of us getting no fee for him when his contract runs out and the board knowing that. It would be a shame if Wilf left now that we're getting a good team together, however we shouldn't make business decisions based on sentimentality. Might just be the right time to sell him and sign a younger version of Eze/Olise to refresh the talent pipeline.

There aren’t many defenders that fancy it against him, one on one outside the penalty box. He would be a good acquisition for any club.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

There is nothing new in the Mail article that couldn’t have been said any time in the past 5 years. If an offer comes in Palace will consider it - and if the price is too low they will reject it.

If Zaha wants to stay he stays IMHO. If he wants to go now is the perfect timing. But I think he'd get European football with us, and playing on a pitch not sitting warming a bench. PV has and still is creating a 'squad'. We don't rely on any single player to win games these days. Money for Zaha would help with areas we need to bolster, such as DM and RB and perhaps sell a few strikers for a more prolific one. At RB Nathan Ferguson's youtube shows that he has the potential to be awesome but I think back-up for him too. But I digress: Yes I think Palace will 'listen' to offers of any player.

Why people still respond to rubbish football journalism is a mystery. Zaha's contract is running down, so he can walk for nothing soon. As a player who has at times almost single handedly kept us in the PL, I would offer him another long contract so he can retire at Palace. There are no clubs in England who need him and can win titles. He is much better off where he is.
