Well they have departed, now 440-6.

Foakes and Woakes wonder if they can get us up to near 500.

All great but the pitch looks like the first test one.

Still score-board pressure.

Utterly dire once again.

After having WI at something like 220-7 we let me get almost 300, then collapse to around 100 - 8.

When this squad wss announced it looked pretty poor and that has been proved. Also, they once again never gave themselves enough match practice to adapt to conditions.

Everyone knows Woakes cant bowl outside of England, Overton is not international standard. Stokes cant bowl a massive amount of overs. Leach is good spinner but not exceptional to win matches. Mahmood could be decent given time. Wood being injured was a major blow, but he is too injury prone as is Archer now.

But batting, we have been seriously poor for so long. Lees has tried to dig in. Crawley seems just as suspect as he was before. How Lawrence got picked for the tour i dont know. Bairstow did dig in for one innings but doesnt seem to be able to deliver the conistency from his one day form.

England mgt need to realise we are a poor test side.

And i do wonder whether all the money surrounding international t20 tournments has contributed to a lack of focus and possibly desire for players in tests.

Worst England Test 11 I can remember. Jimmy & Broad are still by far our best bowlers so they should be playing. Simple. It doesn’t excuse the useless batting, but it just adds more pressure. The Windies are average at best and they’re about to thump us. I think I’ve seen enough of Lawrence to know he’s not good enough.

The future is looking bleak. Desperately hoping that Crawley and Pope will come good.

Listening to captain woke is painfully cringey.

I've supported the England cricket team all my life but the problems have been apparent for many years now.

We sit at the bottom of the test league and I'm sorry but I've afraid people have been paid far too highly for poor returns for many years now. People have been taking the biscuits out of the cookie jar but worrying about nonsense while the core purpose of the game....a winning test side....has apparently been an after thought.

The real core problem is the ECB itself and the type of people there.

Terrible at present. Akin to some of the worst days of the past. I'm even expecting Stokes to jack it in, leaving Root as about the only actual test standard player in the side. And he's a bloody awful captain.

They have dug such a hole for themselves that they will have to return to the ancient Anderson and Broad this summer.....which on the face of it is pretty pathetic.

When you look at the county sides you're stuck how their focus is misaligned with the test team's requirements. The ECB just focused on maximising money rather than in concentrating on what actually brings success. It's just another example of.....'how the feck do these guys get paid so much' for continual failure, then again my last sentence answered that.

Can I have a job like that please?......Sounds like a wiz.

To lose by 10 wickets is shocking. Southgate's selections are based on performance and rightly so. The ECB pick based on who's who. It's harder to be dropped than be selected. Too many of our elite players are simply not good enough and should be stripped of their central contracts. Bairstoe and Crawley will be rewarded for their centuries despite precious little in their other 5 innings. If there is no route to the national team that makes sense and is achievable to the most talented then are test team will always be and will continue to be in the doldrums.

I'm surprised Rooty wants to stay on.

He has had a bad run but in fact he has more victories than previous best Vaughan.

He certainly deserved to be supported as captain by his players but they were abject, if we had been rootless in the past six years we would have struggled to win even one test.

There us no-one to take his place they are so average, the idea that a batsman has to get his head down is completely foreign to them.
