There’s always a cup run?
In dog beers I’ve only had one. |

This thread is veering away from Palace Talk but it's worth noting that only Arsenal have continuously been in the top division longer than Everton, who have not been in the 2nd Division since the early 50s. Relegation could really happen this year. Apologies if I've committed a Willoism.

Lampard seems like a nice guy.
The beatings will stop when morale improves. |

Frank is certainly taking Everton in a new direction !! Not his fault. Look at the squad. As someone pointed out earlier, to stave off relegation they bought the Lionheart that is Dele Ali.

Lampard did take over an Everton team in 16th place and this is only his 5th PL game at the club. This is true, but they appear to look worse now than they did under Rafa and Lampard has got a majority of the players back from injury. Which was a luxury Rafa didn’t have. Let’s face it Lampard isn’t very good….

Everton are so totally clueless it's painful. Or pathetic. They were clearly in a relegation battle, or at least on the cusp of one when Benitez left so their answer: hire a manager with no experience in relegation battles, no experience working in the PL with a sub-standard team, no real experience managing with a less technically gifted squad and then, just for good measure, bring in that well-known relegation-fighting-bulldog Dele Alli in the January window. Everton would have been better off hiring Roy in January for six months (they've got a better squad than Watford and, frankly, Roy would have got them organised and out of the bottom five miserable as it might have been to watch) and then hit the reset button in the summer. But that's not good enough for the Mighty Everton and their delusional fans. Well, in Lampard they got what they wished for. So I can only assume they're all enjoying the scoreline at Tottenham tonight. I'm not sure if Farhad Moshiri would have made it out alive if he replaced one defensively-minded former Liverpool manager with another one.
