No one has mentioned Nico Vaesen who came in from Birmingham City when we had a goalkeeper crisis and it was a really crucial part of the season . He was a really good keeper.

Remember him was he Latvian or Estonian or something or am I thinking of someone else? Kolinko or someone

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

We have had some great ones. Gallagher does take some beating that is because it is very fresh in the mind. For me Paul Stewart, now he was immense.

My memory may be playing tricks, but didnt he get sent off for 2 deliberate handballs in a game?? I vaguely remember it - home game.

Forssell was Finnish and one of those who was a lynchpin in our great escape under Member.
Nico Vassen was a loan keeper instrumental in our promotion season under Dowie and a player who I would say was pivotal in that promotion.

Worse? How about Erdal Rakip? Never troubled the bench let alone first team.

He was a Belgian International, and Kolinko was Latvian.

I can’t remember, but we had him and Kenny Brown from West Ham. We really kicked on with those 2 in the team.

Just had a look at his Wiki page I think his most successful period was playing for us. He went out on loan quite a bit and was sold but he was plagued by injuries after us.

Ashley Cole was good for us while he was here, and as already mentioned - Paul Stewart.

I think he shone as he was pure class rather than fully committed.

However, please name the other player we had on loan that season. Was he Danish? Bags of talent, but we seemed beneath him.

I'd argue the chances of Gallagher staying have just shot up. Firesale at Stamford Bridge this summer?

Doubt it, assets seized, players are assets, therefore can't be sold as per the norm. Also don't forget CFC itself is an asset.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
