Another day, after loon. The same kind of thing has certainly been said in the other direction, including on here, but that in no way excuses what she said. She manages to both sound incredibly dense and toys with extremes in the same breath. Important to appreciate the obvious; that her views are her own and not held by most people or any colour or creed. Still, while she was clearly debating the question at hand, her replies are not a road any reasonable person would go down and to my mind are the precise opposite of the kind of character we should look for in those seeking our vote. Then again, looking across politics as a whole, it's a row of grifters, those blinkered to the realities of ordinary people and incompetents, so I'm sure she'll fit right in.

She’s not a loon. She sounds like she does because she has no affinity with this country. Why would she?

Eh?! Are you suggesting that if someone is black and born here they, by default, have no affinity for their country, and indeed that this is not their country or somewhere they should even seek to hold an allegiance towards?

No, I’m suggesting they will have less affinity no matter how much we try to re-write history. That’s not her fault.

I'm not sure there's a sweeping 'they' about people based on their race, when so much in life comes to individual experiences and ideas. You have no say at all in how much affinity anyone else has for their country. It's lamentable that you've taken valid criticism of this woman and leveraged it to sweepingly attack an entire race of people. You personally have on here made equivalent comments as hers about how when a vote doesn't count violence is the "ultimate authority". So really, you're little different from her, only you've decided that brand of violence would be valid and hers wouldn't. Perhaps that she should toddle off back to a 'homeland' she's likely never visited? At least I suppose we can say that since she's standing for election, she made her mind up regarding the bullet or the vote.. Not as though I have anything particularly positive to say about this woman. Btw, do you live in the UK, and did you? Or is it that old ex-pat chestnut that 'an Englishman is never a foreigner'? Honestly, no wonder you acknowledge butting heads with those around you. They perhaps feel that they've lost someone they once knew. Unfortunate as I'm sure on some level you're far from being a bad bloke. Edited by BlueJay (02 Mar 2022 9.45pm)

Edited by BlueJay (02 Mar 2022 9.19pm) You said “someone” and I said “they” which as far as I’m aware is the appropriate pronoun in the English language but clearly you are looking for offence to the extent that you are looking up my previous posts on unrelated subjects. I’ve lived in London all of my life and it’s now unrecognisable and alien to me. Something none of us ever voted for.

Like most people with views that are so sweeping, when confronted there is the reframe and rephrase. For what it's worth, I'm sure Ms Hamilton would do just the same. One day, I'll encounter someone with 'forthright' views, who isn't afraid to genuinely acknowledge them. I'm sorry that you feel the way you do. There are a great many ways to perceive life, and you have chosen yours. I would suggest that you reserve your dislike solely for politicians and those they are beholden to, rather than letting ordinary people get caught up in it. Most people have very similar struggles regardless of colour and creed and are getting by day to day. They are just set against one another, and unfortunately all too often willingly go along with that.

Yeah we are getting into word salad territory now in an attempt to smear me as a “racist” (a word I reject the entire premise of). I can tell you something though and that’s that there are many non English in this country of all races actually standing up against globalism and they are my people. They don’t need liberals to defend them and people on the left and right (including the “far right”) have gone missing when actual tyranny arrived at our shores 2 years ago. They are the people I give a s*** about.
